What is the value of the resistor?

An ignition coil resister is designed to prevent sparks from entering the coil. My coil has cracked twice, so I have replaced it both times. ?

There is a common use for this to lower the voltage going to the distributors. With a 12v vehicle, a resistor is used to drop the voltage down to around 6v (which is the voltage used by the ignition points).

The unit appears to be fairly decent

As far as I can tell, it works fine. So far, the only complaint I have is the spade terminals seem to be made from 24 gauge sheetmetal, so they are super easy to bend. While it is not as well made as the 50 year old unit it replaced, what more is available nowadays?.

This product works well and is easy to install. The bracket on this makes it easy to mount to the coil and it works as it should. If you have an ignition coil without a resistor, you will need this part.
