Questions & Answers

Is thermal grease included or does installation hardware come with it?

The thermal grease does not come with it. The nut and bolt kit contains four black nuts and bolts. For the installation of the new coil, these parts are required. Using 11/32 inch nuts is the proper size. In light of where the coil is located, you might need a gear wrench of that size to install the new

Is there a limit on the distance these coils will travel?

It will keep working until it stops. 244000 miles were the life span of my AC Delco coil.

The coil is made in China, as I can see. Generally speaking, Chinese parts tend to be built to a price point, and I haven't been successful with them. Then it must be crap, right?

The quality of ACDelco parts is still better than that of other Chinese manufacturers.

Quality that is second to none
5/5

It is great that ACDelco is providing this OEM replacement ignition coil. With ACDelco's Professional series, you are guaranteed a long life and reliable service. was looking for an engine replacement for my 1995 LT1. This was a lot less expensive than the dealer's. Installing this in the car took me maybe 30 minutes. The old coil has rivets you will have to drill out and the mounting bracket will have to be reused. For mount the bracket to the coil, the coil is provided with new bolts and nuts, so you do not have to deal A backfire occurred from the intake when I ran wide open on my LT1. During my check, I checked plugs, wires, and the When I removed the wire that runs from the coil to the distributor, the backfire did not appear to be caused by that wire. My eyes could not even see any metal because it was so heavily corroded and white. After replacing the coil and the distributor, I switched the ignition wire to a coil. Now, my engine runs like a dream. There is no backfire in any way. At the dealer, you can save hundreds of dollars. The OEM part you need for your car that matches your exact VIN can be found on Amazon if you contact your local dealer with your VIN, ask for the GM part number for the part you need and enter that number into the Amazon search bar.

Replace your old one with this one so your vehicle lasts a bit longer
5/5

Over the last year or more, I had many problems with code 42. It was a 1988 K5 Blazer that I had restored. I had a difficult time figuring out where the code came from because how it is used is also not well understood. HELP I have trouble understanding code 42, it is set either by the PCM or the ignition module. As soon as I replaced the aftermarket coil with this AC Delco D503A coil, I no longer had this As soon as I stopped damaging the ignition modules, everything went back to normal. It's still like a brand new truck despite the lengthy diagnosis. Stay with AC Delco and you won't go wrong.

There is the possibility of coils going bad without going out
5/5

It was not difficult to replace the rivets with the coil since it came with bolts and nuts. Perhaps taking a photo (on that sturdy cellphone you never leave home without) of the orientation of the bracket as well as of the coil before removing them will be useful.

This is a product that's worth every penny

In order to fully tune the vehicle, I performed the following There is an ACDelco cap, rotor, wires, and connectors as well as an ignition control module. In the aftermath of replacing my intake gaskets (OEM too), I set my timing and I noticed my RPMs were erratic while driving. Once I got somewhere and put it in Park, the RPMs stabilized. After I replaced the ignition coil, I was able to resolve the problem. When I examined my coil further, I discovered that it still had the rivets holding the brackets in place, which confirms it to have been an original from 1991.

The part is compatible with my 1993 Corvette, as per the AC Delco Parts Guide*
4/5

It arrived wrapped in a padded Amazon envelope in a damaged box. I gave it 4 stars because the packaging issue prevented it from being 5 stars. Fit perfectly on coil brackets and came with screws and nuts. Several AC Delco parts don't match Amazon search results, and as a result, they are frequently flagged as not fitting, but Amazon prices are often the lowest and eligible for Prime shipping. In the end, the story teaches the following lesson Before ordering AC Delco parts, please consult the AC Delco parts guide.

I worked on it for 2 months
3/5

After I installed this part in my truck, it lasted for two months. Described in the description is the fact that the substrate is coated to prevent It is certainly too early to notice AC Delco's quality, and it may just be a random error. Every now and then, there will be at least one that fails and for me, it just so happens to be this one. * If that helps, my truck's performance remained good for over two months.

I like this solution except for the original coil brackets having to be reused
4/5

The pros are The quality of AC Delco Parts is guaranteed. Is able to perform as expected. Maintains the original appearance of your older vehicle. The cons are Due to the fact the bracket does not come with the unit, you must use the original bracket. However, the original unit is riveted to the bracket and the only way to remove it without damaging it is by using a Dremel or grinder on the rivets.

Fixes MasterCraft MCX that will not start
5/5

The old ignition coil would make a spark when the plug was not in the cylinder, however the engine would turn over but not start. Replaced the old ignition coil with this and the engine started right up. There was only a little bulging of the epoxy on the old one, which was the only sign it tested bad. Pictures can be found at (see photo).
