You won't need sealant if you use a gasket, but we use a small amount on both sides of our axles to help with leakage. br> br> br> br> br>

The gasket is made of paper

This is a paper gasket with a thin thickness to it. Not a re- type that can be used. If the mating surface of the differential cover isn't perfectly flat, the seal will most likely fail.

I used my old cover as a template and used a single-sided razor blade to score the new one. The material will snap off like drywall if you score it deeply enough.
