I had no problems with my 390, but I did need to put a bead of silicone along the front and rear of the engine to seal the intake, since there are no seals included.

With this Felpro set, you get that seal and even the manifold to block gaskets (probably one of the things no one has ever used anyway). These are old motors and old seals, so it's not the end of the world, but it would be nice if they were included.
I first had the Felpro gaskets and had no issues with them but had to pull my intake to replace the lifters, so when I put it back together again (Performer RPM) I used these as these were recommended by Edelbrock. The Edelbrock fasteners I used were torqued in the proper direction and in the correct order. As soon as I started the car, I noticed that my oil smoke was a lot thicker than normal. Was hoping it would go away, but wasn't able to do so. My next step was to pull the intake and find that the gaskets did not seal at the bottom of the intake runners, causing the engine to get oil from the valley and After removing the intake, I replaced the gaskets with Felpro gaskets and everything went smoothly.
It worked like a charm Adhesive from Edlebrock was used on.
I was able to fit my Edelbrock intake to the ports easily.
The factory gasket on an Edelbrock intake is 10 times better than any aftermarket gasket.
A perfect translation.
