Getting your Holley carb tuned and running like new has never been easier with this wonderful (almost) complete kit. As well as the specs and instructions you'll need to do the task, this guide includes them. The only thing it does not include that you may need is an additional vacuum secondary diaphragm if your carb has Fortunately, you can get that too on Amazon for just a few dollars. Then read on!.
Make sure it is the correct kit for your engine. In the case of a Holley 4160 carb with a secondary metering block instead of a metering plate, this is not the kit you need. With this kit, you will have all that you need if your secondary metering plate is replaced by a metering block, but you will be short of a bowl gasket if you have a plate in place of a block. On my Holley Street Avenger 4160, I was short the bowl gasket as it had a metering block which, luckily for me, I was able to salvage on teardown.
A sheet of instructions is not included. Gaskets that are totally out of whack. It was not obvious until I opened the file that it was wrong. As of now, this item cannot be returned. It was somewhat my fault for believing the In my search for other number kits, I found that they all had similar reviews. Online ordering doesn't seem to be a good option for this item.
It had most of the parts I needed as well. My order for this rebuild kit was placed quite some time ago. It's taken me a while to rebuild my 4160 carburetor. Taking this kit apart and rebuilding it was surprisingly straightforward. It had most of the parts I needed as well. This kit lacks a new diaphragm for the vacuum secondary, and that is my only complaint. Once I had it all broken down, I discovered that the diaphragm was completely shot, so I had to order it separately. This is not set out as being included, so it is really my fault that I did not check.
The only areas I disliked were the missing gaskets for the float bowls and the brackets for raising the level. Furthermore, you must include the fuel tube - I managed to break one of the rings after 100 miles because the rings were a bit thin. As far as the rest of the kit is concerned, I have no complaints. The seller corrected the situation and refunded me partial funds.
Please note that these are for 4160 series carbs. If you have a 4150 series (viz. a visible metering block), this is not a suitable kit. If we make the bodies and bowels of the body and bowels of the back, there will not be enough gaskets. There is no real consensus among advertisers on this matter. The 4160 carb kit is a good basic kit at a reasonable price if you have it.
My perfect rebuild came with all the parts I need and more, just to let you know that a large diaphragm for the secondary is not included.
The perfect solution for bringing that old, old cantankerous and moody carb back to its former glory, it.
