While it has been true that an oil filter is an oil filter, there was a time when that was not the case. Don't worry about the brand name buy a name brand. " Well, that is no longer the case. It is a very good filter at an incredibly low price. No, these are not the K&N. There are some oil filters which have the wrench nut on top, so you need a filter cap to remove/install those. The real thing is, these are authentic.

These are good filters, I have never had problems. It seems overkill, doesn't it? Could be, but I hate working on.
I would highly recommend it. You can get it here for a lot less than you can get it from chain automotive stores, and it feels better built than FRAM filters. This filter also comes in a white version, but the white one has a bolt on the end that allows it to be tightened. Because oil filters should only be hand tightened (if you have a good grip) and it was cheaper to not have the top nut on it, I bought this one. My next oil change will be with one of these. I will definitely order another one.
