Although the product fit fine, I was concerned about its length. On the outlet, I had to buy a When you make the cut at the outlet, it appears that there is no real support so I added a strip of metal to the undercarriage for added support. I used this on a Saturn aura XE from 2009.
My 2011 Chevy Malibu had fitment issues so I bought one and it took me about 20 minutes to install. I read a few reviews before purchasing this and some people had issues with it fitting. The resonator will be replaced directly when replacing the device on its own. Car seems to be made of quality metal and seems to be in pristine condition!.
that this item does not fit your G-Series The following link will take you to ]
It is a I believe this part is for a 5L engine. Walker says that it is the right part. In fact, it is almost true. As for installing it on the car, I did that as well. Furthermore, I believe the plan is going to work well. Despite this, it was not an easy task. In order to remove the old resonator, I used a battery power sawzall type of cutter, cutting close and carefully in order to make sure the pipe was left behind. We then turned our attention to the issues.
1. Delivery of the inlet end was out of the box It has a round shape. I did not notice any damage to the package during shipping. The interior dimensions of the device were somewhat oval, with a difference of about 1/4 inch between their minimum and maximum sizes. You're right, that is quite a bit. There was no chance of it sliding onto the exit pipe of the cat. I rented a pipe expansion tool from FLAPS and used that to expand the resonator's inlet pipe, while shaping the oval shape It fit nice and snug, but can still be taken off again when necessary. I believed that it would work great. In the end, I had a perfect score of An exhaust clamp measuring 5 inches long. . * *2. This is where the exit pipe goes. That must be a pain! This was too short, I think by a factor of About 5 inches in height. Additionally, the inlet was slightly out of round (though not nearly as much as the outlet). A torch or some other type of torch had been used to sloppily cut the metal to length, leaving a rough, puddled And also. The pipe diameter was too small, so it fit very loosely in the existing pipe. In order to secure it, I made an extension piece from a section of 2" In addition to the expansion tool, I also used another expansion tool on the resonator's outlet, ensuring a snug fit with the extension that would be welded in It just took a little faffing around to get the 2" ID extension to fit inside of the other muffler inlet pipe. Welding and a clamp (2 and 1/8", not 2 and 1/8". This was accomplished by deleting the code in line 25 shown by Walker). 1. 2. 3. The extension was already welded when I noticed a rattling sound when I touched it after I had already installed the resonator. As I peered into the exit end of the case, I saw a perforated core that had formed inside that In order to place several small beads where the center core met the body, I had to reach down inside the pipe with the wire welder. There will be no rattle this time. I couldn't give two stars, so the three stars are the result of that. I think the hanger bars are placed well There is a strong tube running through the main body of the device. I know this isn't the point, but come on! It was clear that there were a lot of factors missing The length of the item is too short (a design choice or a production choice)
Out- A round tube (manufacturing, quality control)
A tube with a loose core (manufacturing, quality control)
I wish I had measured the overall length before welding to determine if it met the specification I There are 750 inches in the measuring device. I did not do so, and the Pontiac is now back in service.
I have used Tenneco products before, and was confident with their quality. The project immediately preceding the exhaust repair was the installation of left and right Quick Strut I am happy with how they fit and how easily they were installed. There are a lot of good ones. This is a 5 star company.
Several months ago, I brought this resonator to a exhaust shop and they welded it in for me for $90. The sound now is like a new vehicle.
It was installed on my Chevy Malibu 2 2008 It said it didn't fit my vehicle on Amazon but I checked with other auto parts stores and it did fit, I welded it, the larger opening over the existing pipe slides over the old exhaust pipe and the smaller end slides into the old pipe, make sure not to cut it too short.
It's gone! The noise that had been bothering my Chevy for two years is no more.
I have a 2008 Chevy Malibu 3. This is the perfect fit. I was able to complete the project with only 5 LS.
The product was delivered early and fit perfectly with the addition of a few I like the quality of this!.
