For a Civic, this is a fantastic muffler

This muffler is far superior to the Walker I installed on my 98 Civic less than 5 years ago, and it is well worth the extra money. It was well worth the few extra dollars and the extra delivery time. This is a quiet muffler. It also creates the necessary back pressure for Hondas to function properly. If you have a manual transmission Civic and the clutch chatters, this could be the solution. I'm not joking when I say I'm astounded that a muffler solved the problem. Now everything is so smooth and quiet. For automatics, this isn't so much of a problem. The muffler isn't black, as you can see in my photos. I don't see any issues here. It appears to be exceptionally well constructed, far superior to the Walker it replaces. The flange bolt holes were not perfectly aligned, but they tightened and straightened without difficulty. This appears to be a good muffler at a reasonable price. br>br>One piece of installation advice I received from an auto parts store employee: make sure to clean all of the old gasket off of the tailpipe before installing the new one, or you may not get a good seal. If your car's muffler has never been replaced, I'd also recommend replacing the spring bolts, as the old ones are likely to break.

As simple as putting on a muffler

Removed the old muffler and replaced it with a new one. Because the old one was welded in, I cut it off and installed the new one with clamps and sealant.

After all, the price was pretty low, so I wasn't expecting this muffler to fit as well as it did. The welds look like they were done by Stevie Wonder, but this is a 1998 Honda Civic. It's a big deal.
