Because of the thickness and compressibility of the 100% flexible graphite, heating and cooling of the exhaust system causes header and manifold flanges to warp, resulting in gaps between the head and header that Remflex exhaust gaskets completely seal.
Remflex exhaust gaskets are available in a standard thickness of 1/8 inch and are designed to crush 50%, allowing them to fill pits or gaps in the flange surface up to 1/16 inch.
The combination of an aluminum cylinder head and a steel header or manifold is prone to gap issues in the mating flanges due to the dissimilar materials' contraction and expansion; Remflex exhaust gaskets permanently fill those gaps.
Remflex exhaust gaskets contain no rubber binders or composite materials, so they won't shrink or harden with time or temperature, eliminating the need to retighten your flange bolts over and over.

This is a thick exhaust header gasket that is ideal for headers that are a little worn out or slightly warped. br>br>I put them in an AMC 360 with summit racing headers and they worked perfectly.

The new gaskets on weld bead headers make 304 sound incredible. With the thick seal, the engine bay looks even better. For any classic, especially running headers, I will never use another brand.

Please keep in mind that this is a modified version of the dog leg design. It takes up half of the dogleg pattern.

My header leak is no longer a problem! One of the gaskets, however, had bent and was no longer usable. If you bend the gasket, you'll only have one expensive gasket to work with!.
