Questions & Answers
The previous responder's answer implied the fastener's head had been snapped off and the threaded shaft was even with or below the surface of whatever it was attached to. drilling a tapered extractor into the threaded shaft would be the best solution. You would need to insert a drill into the threaded shaft and use that. As an example, you would drill a hole of I/8" diameter into the threaded portion of the bolt if it were 1/4" threaded. Using a ball peen hammer, hit several times on the extractor to "set" it, then twist it out with an adjustable wrench or tap wrench to remove it (in reverse). Spend time on your work and be patient Beginners may find this process frustrating as it is not an easy one. You should not use the power drill anymore once you have drilled the hole for the extractor. For the best results, only use hand tools during the extraction. It might be a good idea to watch several YouTube videos on bolt extraction before continuing. In situations where the broken bolt is on an automobile engine or in a restricted area, you may decide to have a professional mechanic take care of the problem. I wish you the best of
A 18mm cannot be found within this set. It is a little bigger than the 18mm and is just OEMTOOLS 22968 would be a good choice if you want to try the SAE version
They are both present in it. There are 8mm, 10mm, 11mm, 12, 13, 14, 15mm, and 17mm in each set. In my experience, it just rounded off the bolt I tried to remove, making it worse in the process. Having used this product, I do not recommend it.
You can search for 15mm sockets at Amazon by typing that term into the search field. You can choose from a variety of options.

The steel I use is chrome moly. There is no hardness to the metal, but the metal is cheap. Here is a photo of the attached document. During the installation of the Jeep Liberty 3, I needed to remove the belt tensioner. I had a hard time getting a good grip on the bolt head using a regular socket because it had been rounded. I guess that's why we have this, then? This is wrong. As a result, the "magic flanges" - that should hold the bolt head on the flats - have As far as I can tell, the bolt looks exactly the same as when I began. This is because the metal in these things is softer than the bolt head, so despite the "nut buster" making a deformation, the bolt was not damaged. The budget was balanced and the budget was The item is being returned immediately because it is of low quality and overpriced.
These are inexpensive, and the metal that is used is cheap as well. It only takes a little pressure for the notches to bend and deform inside the socket. Purchase a better set if you want to spend the money.
The purpose of purchasing this was to remove two round off 14mm bolts from cylinder head. Although it got the first bolt just fine, the extractor socket's teeth had already rounded out after the first use, and it was not able to extract the second bolt. This set may be better suited to pulling bolts and nuts that are not.
Just a heads up to anyone working on an old Unlike the passenger side wheel studs, the driver side wheel studs are left hand threaded. I spent countless hours trying to remove driver side lugnuts from 1970 Challengers that I initially thought were rusted on but turned out to be left hand threads - thanks to this product, I saved my day and it saved my month! It was madness on my part. The grip was fantastic and I was able to snap off the now overtightened nuts with very little effort. I highly recommend them!.
It is always good to read customer reviews before making a purchase. As soon as I obtained my tools, I went right to my shop and removed the 5/16 inch bolt from the push rod cap that had rounded a bit previously. Once it was on there, I was able to get it off with a little pressure. I was very pleased with the outcome! I was impressed.
This is a highly recommended book. When I applied it to my car, the previous mechanic had jimmied the fastener and rounded the nut to perfection. It saved me from having to replace the fastener myself. You can remove any rounded nuts with enough surface area in these sockets however, you have to use the correct size and tap down the socket so that it has good grip on the fastener. You can now remove the fastener with your ratchet.
I spent over an hour trying to reach and round off a bolt over the weekend and surrendered to Almost immediately, the bolt came off and seemed to have been rounded off substantially worse than I had seen It gets better as time goes on. The bolt I used in this set was rounded off, so I couldn't get a replacement instantaneously, but with this set, I could reuse it.
It works great my advice is to use them if you have slightly rounded off a head or if you feel it is going to strip. You will not be able to use the bolt if you break it apart. Even if they do not work, they are still very valuable because they increase been said that you have a torch and a pb blast up your sleeve, so it's really just another trick.
