Questions & Answers

Is there a gasket and bolts included with this device? Would you be able to share a picture of the underside with me?

In addition to the topside, I'd also like to see the underside. Would you please confirm if this is the one with the updated PCV baffle

Can you tell me what the torque specification is? How important is it to tighten the bolts in the right order?

In case you need torque specs for an area you're working in, you can go to your local dealer and print them out

What's the difference between this new valve cover and the old 'old' style with the standard PCV? In addition to removing it, is there another way I can tell if this is not a duplicate?

Look at the outside of the cover and you won't be able to tell. It was an old style factory cover for my 2008 GMC Sierra. This helped fix the smoking problem that occurred during engine start up

What is the fitment of this product on a 2007 Tahoe?

If you have at least a 5, you're good to go. An engine with 3 cylinders

I TRULY FEEL THIS It's incredible that I have consumed so much oil in the last 100k miles
5/5

My valve cover has been in place for about 1000 miles now. The oil did not drop after 500 miles, and I couldn't tell if any had. My car just returned from yet another 500-mile highway trip, and I'm still unsure whether any oil was The Hash marks are right on top! The amount of fuel I used per 1500 miles before was about a quart. The amount of fuel that must be lost at 1000 miles should be greater than 1/2 quart. In the meantime, I did a Diablosport (87 Octane) Tune while turning off the V4 mode on the ECU. After I had replaced my oil pressure sensor and screen, I also installed a new one. Within the first few cold starts, I didn't see thick white or grey smoke, and I haven't seen any I did not suffer from a bad cigarette odor and my 2008 Burb smoked much less than those of those who reviewed it. MMO(Marvel Mystery Oil) is added to my oil change during the last 500 miles, and I would never drive more than 4,000 miles unless I was on a road trip. You should replace it often oil is cheap (ten thousand dollars is scary. In the near future, I'll be switching to Valvoline MaxLife Full Synthetic 5W-90 The number of miles I've logged in the last 30 days is 30. For a long time now, I've been running Castrol Syntec 5W-33 My truck had 143k when I bought it in 2013. I've gained 30 pounds since then. Having surpassed 237k, I should be able to reach 300k Having read all the horror stories about the oil burning AFM engines, I was very concerned. Are people going on about collapsed rings and lifters, or replacing pistons, when all that is needed is a simple repair to the PCV? The courses I will be taking in U-M will all be done online This spring we're going to do some joint repairs and drop the front differential to check the oil pan for infamous cracked O-rings On the oil pickup, there is a ring. Stopping on a hill while oil pressure is low but not on a level surface, the oil pressure will drop The aerating ring is causing pressure fluctuations in your oil. I had no problem removing and installing this in less than 20 minutes. Cleaning and repairing the electrical conduit for the ignition coil is part of that procedure.

How bothersome it is to have to replace a part that costs $7
5/5

2008 was a good year for me. Despite this, I had to replace the original OEM valve cover with the new one because the 3 liter Chevy experienced oil consumption issues. Chev, we made the dumbest engineering mistake ever by installing a valve cover in the unibody. By removing the plugs and wires, you made it very hard to swap out your pcv. As a result, catastrophic misfires occur, oil backs up into the air intakes, fouling spark plugs, and oil is consumed excessively. We hope the cover you have made will resolve the issue. * Tools Basically, this is because I have oil backing up into my air system. I need a 10 mm deep socket, 8 mm socket, and a socket wrench with extended handle. The oil filter was replaced, the MAF was cleaned and I removed my throttle body, I used microfiber cloths to soak up the oil in my plenum, new wires/ plugs were installed and the oil was changed.

It is not compatible with 2010 and later
5/5

It is still a solid and reliable product, however. The vehicle I have is a 2010 Chevy Silverado with a 5. 3L engine. I tried to use a valve cover intended for a Vortec 3l engine, but it not working since it has a different port for the crankcase breather tube to attach to (see image). As a reminder, part number 264-2628 is the one I needed There were 969,.

Product is very good
5/5

This is the most current revision of the driver side valve cover for GMT800s. The PCV valve is built into the engine, so you don't need to buy one separately. With this one, I get an ACDelco valve cover gasket that is quite thicker and better than the permatex ones I bought from Felpro. There is a clear distinction between the old design and this new one. Hopefully, this will fix the oil consumption issues with these engines caused by bad PCVs. A similar unit was installed in my 02 L59 Flexfuel Basically, there were no packing materials used so the cover dings due to the damage caused by the box during shipping. I am quite happy with the service and would recommend it. I forgot to mention that it has new bolts and grommets as well. During installation, you should use a torque wrench to ensure a torque of.

A fix has been found for the Silverado's smokey start! A 2008 Silverado with a 5 spd has been given to me
5/5

The mileage is 31,000 miles and the radius is A couple seconds after starting the truck after it had sat for a while (overnight or after work), it would emit a thick puff of smoke. Other than this one, the engine did not smoke. I thought I would give this new design a try after reading about the revised PCV valve on the forums. We later found out the smoking had stopped after making the valve cover change. When I bought the truck, it had the old, nonworking part On this valve, there is a PCV with a baffled design. I think it wasn't that bad changing it out, either. The whole thing took me an hour to do, but I took my time, and I had all the tools at my disposal (I hadn't done In only half the time I would be able to handle it now.

There is a 2008 Suburban 5 of this model
5/5

Oil burn stopped at startup after 3L was added. The 2008 Suburban I bought In most cases (and annoyingly), 3L) burnt oil, and you could see and hear a puff of smoke at start-up. An online article said that a new valve cover with a relocated PCV opening (located on the inside of the cover instead of on the outside) could reduce oil consumption both during startup and while driving. This valve cover has been purchased and installed. The results are Starting up is no longer accompanied by a big puff of smoke, and oil is no longer burned My oil consumption has decreased since I installed this part, and I no longer see the startup puff of smoke. I am unable to tell whether the startup issue fix causes a decrease in oil consumption during regular driving, but in my case, it absolutely helped. This is a good replacement part for also has the same issue.

This is an extremely easy product Installation is extremely simple - just take off the ignition coils and open My time spent on this replacement was about 15 minutes
5/5

I installed this with a catch can which is barely collecting anything now because there is an updated PCV baffle. This one has the updated PCV baffle which will help with certain engines oil consumption issues. The best thing you can do if you have an oil problem.
