Questions & Answers

In a 98 L31 vortec 602 head (center bolt), will the valve covers have to be taller?

It is not necessary to use a taller valve cover for these.

The file says it's meant for use on 88+ engines, but can it be used with stock heads on an 82 SB?

They are for heads that need to be self-contained Like Vortec heads, rockers must be aligned. It is not advisable to use them on heads that do not need to be self-cleaning Putting the rockers in alignment. This is not the case A self-reflection 1412 is the part number for the aligning part

Does this fit the casting number 14101081 for the 1987 SBC 305 heads (center bolt)?

The casting number is not readily accessible to me. As long as it is a valve cover head with a centerbolt, then

I like the way the fit feels and the quality is good
5/5

These are being used on SBC 350s and seem to be working fine so far. Prime the oil pumps on the 16 of these and oil will flow. When installing your sockets, make sure you have a thin wall deep socket. I had a thick wall and still had to grip the sockets with vice-grips to remove the sockets after snugging down every As of about 30 miles into the new build, each rocker is tightened 1/2 turn after 0 lash and cam break in. The engine is running smoothly Make sure not to clog the small holes inside the rocker with grease or oil, as this could make oil and grease harder to get up the push rod and into the rocker channel. Additionally, assembly lube was used on the drip edge of the cup and molylube was applied to the contact areas over the push rod and valve stem. Besides using Comp Cams Valve Train Assembly Spray, the valve covers were placed on the valves.

You need a thin wall socket in order to install it. You've got a very nice set up! This is a great stamper replacement for the stock rockers. The 062 vortec head is available in stock.

It's time to switch to some better-performing ones instead of the stock To replace the stock rocker arms with some better performance ones, I bought these rocker arms

This part worked perfectly with my SBV 350 shevy and came with everything for installation. I got more power as well and is great value.

The Comp Cam is the best

Can I say anything else? Comp Cams - that's what we do! This is an impressive product. I have been building engines since the early 1990s. The roller tip rockers are much better than the full roller rockers in my opinion.

This product worked very well with my 1996 GMC Serria 1500. It has a Vortec 7 engine.
