Would this be a replacement for a basic stock part? Does it just have to do with ?

Unlike stock replacements, this is not a cheap substitute. The milodon deep sump pump is designed to be used with deep sump pans. That makes it an excellent pump for that use. If you are looking for a stock replacement, look at the Mellings M57HD.
