The ARP catalog makes it difficult to figure out what you're looking for. These are too short for my big block Chevy's starter, which has two offset bolts and is the same length as the starter housing. Because the package says "SB," I deducted two stars. They're labeled "BB SS hex starter bolt kit," but they don't fit my starter. br>br>I'd take another star away from Amazon because their return policy only lasts a month, but it took me a little more than a month to get around to installing the starter on my new engine (I ordered these ahead of time so I'd have everything I needed - Thanks a lot for the suggestion. ) But this is a product review, and the product is made up of "good bolts" and "crummy description" (I'm not talking about the ad, but the actual packaging). br>br>For the record, these have a 3 star rating. Underhead length of 700" is appropriate for some smaller starters - However, it's an inch and a half too short for my big block. My answer is probably not "standard," but rather "long" - which is the 430-degree-degree-degree-degree-degree-degree-degree 3507.
Is it possible that my issue was one-of-a-kind? On my 1973 Chevy 350 block, I used a mini starter, thinking these would be perfect, but the threads weren't deep enough, and when the starter engaged, it simply ripped it off the block. They are, however, very attractive.
They don't specify that these are for SBC mini starters with shorter mounting blocks than a standard SBC starter, so I'm giving it three stars. They're fine in every other way.
I guess they want you to buy every starter bolt you can find, measure them yourself, and send back the ones that aren't right.
