This block heater does not contain a thermostat as block heaters are designed for specific engine applications and are not required to be controlled by specific temperature controls within the engine. As well as the speed of the heating element, the element density, and the ambient conditions, many other factors affect the actual temperature of the heating element. It is not necessary to use an external plug timer for the block heater, if that is what you prefer.

Buying junk is not a good idea

On my truck, I had a hard time installing this. For two days, it worked, but then it stopped working. A test was conducted on the cord. Everything was fine. I then switched off the heater and nothing happened. This junk must be replaced again in this 16 deg weather outside. Thanks for making me deal with this.
