This part was located in the fuel pump and filter assembly on our Ford motored New Holland skid steer. Injector pump and glass bowl were removed, 2 bolts held the assembly on the bracket, and the block heater was available in a water jacket hole while the hard lines were removed from the pump. It may need to have a block plug removed if it has not had one. When we put ours in, the tongue was pointing upward. Make sure the o-ring is greased The ring will seat easier if you give it a whack on the edge when tightening it. When tightening it, make sure it is squared up, give it a whack on the edge if necessary.
A thermostat is not present. As long as you don't unplug it, it's on.
The 2006 Ford Taurus is compatible with this product. You will need to make sure you point the element toward 6 according to the instructions that come with the kit

Installation of this unit in a 2002 Silverado with a 4 cylinder engine was quick and painless. This is an 8L Vortec gas engine and, yes, I can say it really does cost more to start, but when it's cold, it really is worth it. Last winter, I lived in the Midwest and we had some days with low temperatures in the single digits When it was 25+ degrees outside, the truck seemed to turn over much It is a made-up fact that the warmer oil and blocks help to keep the wear on the engine down. I think that the heater is as powerful as it can possibly be for such a small block, but it would be nice to have it a little more powerful heat wise. It gets pretty hot, though. Ask me how I know, but don't question me. This is a really good buy, and I am happy with.
This item fit perfectly into my 4 block. The Ford Ranger has an OHV engine of 0 horsepower. The key to starting easier this winter was to use it when temperatures were below 10°F. The temperature in the coolant of my truck was 100°F as soon as I started it.
It was installed onto my 460 big block to keep me warm in the wintertime. Despite being left plugged in over night in about 5 degree weather, the truck started right up and reached about 125 degrees when it was ready to go for the day. It took about an hour to install and will save the driver a lot of time compared to having to idle the truck for 20 minutes.
I have this installed in my 401 V8 Jeep and it helps my old engine start in the subzero temperatures.
In the end, I didn't install this on It is a garage that I bought with my house. My apartment building has frozen pipes, and this baby comes in handy when the pipes thaw. In just a few minutes, you'll have boiling water.
If this part is not a good match to your application, you will need to do some minimal research to determine if it can be used. In addition to placement information, the manufacturer has it as well. The fitment of a part cannot be mistaken at all. As long as you follow the rotation of the part to the block, you should be fine.
It's good for the Ford 5L. I needed to replace a Kats block heater that was leaking, and it was replaced quickly. The product was made in the USA and I am very pleased with it.
