I bought the replacement part for my 1600 cubic inch 2000 hp catapillar marine engine and it takes 2 for me so you will need to remove the old heater and try to remove the old pipe plug quickly so you do not lose much coolant and replace the part with what you need Goodluck.

The heater was a different size from the 1500W heater posted on the packaging and the part number on the box was incorrect. I returned the connector and requested a new one, but received a much smaller heater that does not even resemble the one I purchased. Now that I don't know where to buy a heater, I shall purchase one elsewhere.

This is an awesome product! Ensures engine performance in cold weather according to the description! I cannot believe how much less wear and tear this takes off the engine when it's cold outside. I can't believe I waited this long to install this on my CAT3406E.
