You should not use this because boat motors are designed to have heaters. I used it in my tractor for a month and it warped the head gasket and it cannot be used as a heater. If I were you I would flush the engine with Waterline any freeze instead.
No, it is not going to

This heater I installed on my 2015 Mazda3 this fall and I am very pleased with it. One of the biggest problems people have when using this heater is figuring out where it should be installed. Although I can't speak for Ford pickups or other vehicles that this fits on, on my Mazda it was easy to install into the threaded plug located high up on the rear of the engine. The correct plug is covered by a layer of orange sealant and is easily distinguishable. You can see it from underneath, just by looking up at the rear of the engine. In order to do this, you will need a 14mm hex bit socket and a ratchet that can reach up in there. You do not need to remove any brackets or pieces of the exhaust. Currently I am working on a two-year degree It can also be done with the car up on jack stands in the front from underneath on a creeper, but I have a post lift in the shop that makes this type of installation a lot easier. In retrospect, I probably should have brought down the coolant level by draining excess coolant from the bottom of the radiator, but I simply removed the plug and quickly installed the heater into the leaky spot. Only 2 cups of coolant were lost, but I was able to top it off without any issues. Routing the cord was a breeze, and the overall install went smoothly. I use both a Torque app and an OBDII bluetooth transmitter to check my engine temperature at different times, since the new cars don't have a temperature gauge, just red and blue warning lights that display when temperatures are over or under specifications. I drove about five miles on flat ground to reach my target temperature (180F) on a 15F degree morning last week. It started with a temp of 110F right off the bat and reached it after about 10 minutes. The next time I go to buy something like this, I'll get one of these.
This really works well with a 4 door Mazda 3 2. I bought it for a Mazda 3 2. The third level. My install was a pain in the ass, mostly because I could not find any information on where the port could be found. It was a bit of a challenge. Finding it was the difficult part, but installing it was a piece of cake. So far, having it turn on an hour before driving has led to a warm engine after about five minutes of driving (if I keep driving at the same speed, that is). So far, I do not need to use telfon tape or loctite. It seems this would be a good solution for someone who is handy but does not want to spend $350 or more in order to have their car winterized.
Unless you have a 2006 F150 5, this threaded version will not fit. My application is 404 3v. I called zerostart and they told me something is wrong. My name and number were taken by Zerostart so that a technical support engineer would contact me. A week has passed and I have yet to hear It is a 3/4 npt thread when it comes to the heater plug, and a 3/8 npt thread when it comes to the drain plug. The product information that Amazon has on the products is incorrect and it isn't their fault that it isn't accurate. I checked with Zerostart's application guide before purchasing. You can see the comparison in the photo.
The block heater was a bad one. I put this in my 3 cyl kubota engine generator, and it was 30 degrees outside. It took less than an hour for my head temperature to rise to 190.
Additionally, the following benefits are provided You need instant heat to defrost windows and heat your backside when you live in a colder climate. I used to always have engine heaters when I lived in Illinois. No southern state can ignore them, even if they have the advantage of being southern. Within about an hour, the procedure is completed easily.
Amazon advised me that this threaded block heater would fit my 2010 Ford I crawled under my truck this afternoon to install it only to discover that the heater was too small to fit into where the freeze plug used to be. My year-old purchase has expired. I'm not going to be able to return it.
It holds about 3 liters. Designed to fit my 2003 Mazda 6 with 2 front wheels. A four cylinder engine with a displacement of 3 liters. It's not too difficult to install once you get rid of the brass plug. It's necessary to get the brass plug out, so be sure to buy the metric hex socket. The work was completed while the car was on ramps while I was under the car. Even though routing the cord proved to be tricky, everything worked out fine in the end.
If I could have what is shown in the picture, I would be delighted. Due to the ease of returning and getting a refund, the return was smooth and painless. My feelings weren't lost, and I'm glad about that.
