Questions & Answers

Can I place a satellite dish in the hot weather?

It appears you have a steel satellite dish similar to HughesNet or Dish Network. There is probably a good application for this product - melting snow, ice and ice buildup from a dish. However, I would ensure the power is "switched" so I can turn it off once the dish is clean. The plug and unplug process is simple. All you have to do is plug it into the AC outlet that is switched. There will probably be no snow if it's cold enough for the unit to run all the time trying to hold its non-essential temperature You can program a satellite dish to operate at 194 degrees, and satellite dish is a Because I lose my internet and phone when my dish gets covered with snow, I might give it a try myself. You came up with a brilliant idea.

When a car battery is heated, what kind of device is used for that?

As it may get too hot, it is probably NOT recommended to use this 120v 250 watt model with a car battery. Using it in cold Wyoming weather, I found it worked very well on the oil pan of a car. It is my understanding that they make low-wattage models for car batteries (maybe 50 watts or 100 watts), and I believe you would just place the heating pad beneath the car battery, and plug it in for use whenever it is

Which one is better? One with 100 watts or one with this? Can you tell me how fast it gets up to temperature?

Heat packs get up to temperature fast, like within seconds, though it depends on how much you're trying to heat. The packet gets hotter than hell in a short period of time no matter what, though

Do the edges of the oil pan have radiused corners? Can they be bent to fit around perimeter corners?

In the case of a move from one apartment to another, I can see no reason why not.

When the Unit Description is inaccurate, the unit cannot be used
3/5

An excerpt of the Amazon web page for this seller is shown below This heater radiates heat continuously and must be used with an external thermostat (not included). It is not true what these statements say. Heat is intermittently transmitted by the unit, reaching temps as high as 113 F. Due to the fact that the unit is thermostatically controlled and the thermostat is built into it, there is no need for the thermostat to be an extra component. The unit I bought is meant for use in a situation where I have my own heat controller. However, I'm unable to use the unit in that situation as the unit switches on and off at a fixed temperature, which is too low for my needs. The adhesive backing is already removed and it is installed Other than that, what other tests could you do? This will be a big hassle to get them to accept a return, which is something that will cause my blood pressure to rise. There is just more money to be wasted dealing with Third Party sellers on Amazon. What to do when you are stuck It is always best to buy directly from Amazon, even if it's a little more expensive.

Oil is heated up like a champ with this device
5/5

I was able to install it in no time and it works perfectly. The engine is a 6 cylinder 3, so I mounted it on that. It is an E90 BMW with a 0L engine. A smart plug connected to it also enables me to tell Alexa in the winter to warm up the car an hour or two before I need to leave. I was having trouble keeping my engine tidied from frequent short trips that failed to get it up to temperature. It seems to have solved that problem. In the current version, the temperature is reached as soon as it is turned on. For short trips, gas mileage increased by five miles per gallon, the cam tick has gone away, and the heater gets hot much faster than before.

The system works to a certain extent
4/5

LOL. My mounting surface was so sterile I was afraid to touch it. On the bottom front corner of my 5, it was glued to the bottom. The Chevy Tahoe is 3 years old. A sealant was added to the edges, as well. The system appears to be functioning as described thus far. After the 15 minutes are up, I turn it off When the temperature is above 40 degrees F, it takes 20 minutes. As opposed to the 30-second "tick" of the valvetrain, the valvetrain "tick" disappears after a few seconds Before the installation, you have 40 seconds to prepare. However, it seems to be returning after 30 seconds or so when the cold start valve lifter takes off as normal. The reason I assume is because the oil was pre-cleaned As the heated oil circulates through the cold cast iron block, maybe it cools it down again, creating an oil that is thicker and ticks more. The slight ticks and noises made inside my car may just be a sign I'm too sensitive.

The heat source has a low profile
5/5

During the winter, I opted to buy these heaters to prevent a metal animal trough from freezing. During the day at 30 F and in the morning at single digits, one heater will significantly decrease the risk of ice formation. In preparation for when it gets colder, I installed 2 heaters on the trough. When the trough is plugged in with two water hoses, it will not even ice up at subzero temperatures. Beding the trough will allow the heat to be retained and wind shear will be kept away. A 27-gallon trough measures approximately 14 feet long. My next purchase will definitely be from you.

This is an easy to install product
4/5

The heater pad I just installed on my car is great. There is no way to tell how well it works yet. A lot of dirt was on the underside of my oil pan, so I cleaned it thoroughly. The pad was then adhered to the oil pan, and a hand roller was used to position it. A high-temperature seal was used around the edge of the tape to make sure it did not come off. I will see how well it works once the nighttime temperatures drop below 20 degrees.

This is hot! In blacksmithing, I am using this to safely heat an oil quenching tank

I use it all the time. Instantly becomes hot, and sticks to itself.

This is the largest size of these adhesive heaters that will fit securely on any portion of the Honda 3
3/5

It will not be as hot as the one for your car's engine. I have a Saturn Vue with a 3. 5L V6. In reality, however, it is not robust or powerful enough to maintain engine warmth. In any case, it does keep it warmer.

I rarely use it to heat my coffee mugs
3/5

It is easy to apply, and the adhesive is as strong as gorilla glue. In my experience, the heat produced by this heater pad is hardly sufficient to heat a mug of coffee. It was installed on a small truck engine to help it start during the winter I was not impressed at all. Does not meet the needs of the user. A 1 inch piece of sump metal the distance from the heater pad is ice cold after being plugged in over night for 12 hours.
