Centering the water pump on the center hole of the fan is a good idea. Four mounting holes on the fan are elongated, making it compatible with all water pumps. All holes face each other at a 90-degree angle. Here is my attempt to help.

My 1971 GM 350 ci FJ40 Land Cruiser is equipped with this pump. This is an improvement over the stock Chevy fan, it is balanced and better able to provide adequate air flow. I also think it looks good. I got a good deal on an open box I think that was a return, so I got the better price. Some of the bolts were missing, but I reused the original bolts. This is outstanding!.
It's a lot better than using plastic. Even in traffic for 45 minutes with the old V8, the engine did not overheat.
I've noticed that air flow over the radiator has improved dramatically, and that the fan runs quieter as well.
It is perfect for me. Quite a bit of flapping. If you do put it near a radiator, make sure you keep it away from it.
I won't accept it if it is crooked.
I really liked how it worked and the way it looked.
I am very pleased with it.
This mount is easy to assemble. You have a nice look there. It moves a lot more air than the stock model.
