I need more information regarding the exact nature of the issue. Describe what you mean in more detail.
The extensions might not be necessary, but if you want to use them then I believe you have to attach the smaller one to the suction line and press it on or use a hammer and block of wood to hold it in place
That should be the case. When you look at the new compressor, the grove where the o rings are mounted is much deeper on the new one, and the hole where the seal/o ring fits on the new one is much larger than the old one. In addition to the little extension bushing, you should also use it in the discharge and suction hoses where the manifold is situated. In this case, the ports are made long enough to be sealed.

My 1982 Corvette's R4 compressor was replaced with a new Delco compressor after it developed problems. There were problems with the seals that came with the compressor even though it is designed for compressors with stepped I used this kit because it contained the correct thickness seals and sleeves and by using these parts, I was able to effectively seal the compressor to hose assembly. Please do not expect any instructions that will specify which is right, simply mock it up for alignment so that the hose manifold and the compressor ports can be torqued properly. Compressors such as these are used in about 40 different kinds of This kit was displayed on a YouTube video I just saw. My purchase was shipped quickly, and I was happy with the service.
It was necessary to use these new type hydraulic seals on the 1987 R10/C10 replacement R4 compressor. Old style green donut orings could not be used. In the R4, Gold is on the left and Green on the right.
There are seals in the package as shown, but there are no aluminum spacers or washers. In my error, I saved the old spacers.
The value is great.
My system worked well for me with no leaks and is still in working order today.
It was not possible to connect the lines to the new pump when replacing the a/c compressor on my 1993 gmc. Using this fix, the problem has been fixed.
Everything is sealed just the way it should be.
