As soon as I installed it, A cap tester I borrowed from the auto parts store measured just 12PSI, not the 18 that it says it should. *It is made in India - Amazon is going to take it back and send me a new one if there are issues with the product. I am not sure when AC Delco started manufacturing in India, but there appears to be some serious quality control issues. It'll be a few days before I can install the tester, but I'll hold onto the tester until I get it. To check the tester, I tested my 20-year-old Stant brand cap on my 1972 Chevy, which tested 16 PSI, which should be what the cap was rated for at the time. So I would say that it probably works.
cover used on top of the cap was not included with it, but can be seen in the attached picture. My cap worked, but I returned it since I needed to use the black cover.
The coolant reservoir cap below is the perfect replacement for my original cap in my 2002 Cadillac I was in need of this and it came just in time.
As part of this For my 2004 Cadillac DeVille, removing the type radiator cap is nearly impossible. Turning the cap counterclockwise will provide a way to begin removing it It starts out going clockwise up to the safety stop, but from there, I have to really pressure it and put a lot of twisting torque on it to push it counter-clockwise The cap should be removed in a clockwise direction. It was actually hard to turn it. I had to get a friend to force When I did it with a generic 18 PSI radiator cap, it was easy to put on and take off.
Replaced it with this OEM replacement part. It was as usual a satisfactory performance by ACDelco. This was an OEM part that could be directly replaced.
This is a genuine ACDelco product without any fuss or muss.
The cap on the Dorman coolant overflow tank that I bought for my 1999 Cadillac deville did not seal. The company exchanged the tank for a new one. The new tank did the same thing as the old one- the cap would not seal. GM supplied the AC RC104 GM Original Equipment 18 PSI tank cap I ordered. From now on, there will be no leaks If necessary, I might send back this tank and order a cooling overflow bottle for a 1999 Cadillac devil radiator (AC delco ) both original equipment.
It was an overheating issue that I resolved.
