It would have been better braking on my 14K lb fiver if I went to 8000 lb axles. The brakes I have so far used have impressed me greatly. The new ones were ready to swap out of the boxes and have broken in quickly without problem. As of now, I've cranked the brakes up to light drag after installing them and can feel the brakes snug up over about 600 miles of use.
For trailers, these magnetic drum brakes are a great replacement for the standard 12" magnetic drum brakes. A drum brake can be replaced by simply changing the shoes, hardware, and magnet for about the same price and much easier if you replace the entire assembly. It bolted on right away and works perfect with my existing drums. The hardware comes pre-assembled. It has been assembled and is ready to be installed. A new set of mounting nuts and some weatherproof components are also included. Plugs that are proof against electricity. It is even possible to find dialectic grease in the electrical connectors. A self-concept is an individual's sense of identity. There's no doubt that the adjustment mechanism will work well, but it is cable-operated, which is most likely to be the first point of failure. It is definitely a recommendation that I would make.
Although my old brakes were still in very good condition, I immediately noticed a dramatic difference in the amount of gain I needed for the trailer brakes after installing the new ones. Taking Lippert's advice for brake wear in helped me improve my braking, as I am sure it contributed to my increased.
Thanks to Lippert! It replaced a unit from Dexter, and it fits perfectly and is just as durable as the one it replaced.
The brakes are much better than the ones the factory installed on my trailer. These look perfect. They were easy to wire. I assume they are service brakes, right? As a replacement for my older rusted break-off box, I used this one It is a "away only" brake assembly, and the problem is it only self adjusts when it is being Stay safe and have a great break It is rare for away brakes to be applied. As soon as I put the brake, I manually adjusted them - Leaving the hub or wheel on all the time.
As a replacement for my 5th wheel brake system, I have chosen the Lippert Brake System. I was surprised at how well everything fit and worked. Installing the software is simple. Including new bearings and hubs, I replaced everything in the brake system. There are no longer labor rates that are so high and clients who are told it will take 5 months to get to them. You wouldn't believe how simple it was.
We purchased two of these to replace the OEM Dexter units on the 7K axles. The kit comes with all the bolts and connectors you need.
These were used on my toy hauler trailer as a set of four. Over the last 2000 miles, I've towed about 2000 miles and these brakes have been much more effective than the stock equipment.
