Questions & Answers
They come in two pairs, one for the front and one for the back.
The brake shoes come in a set of four. There are two for each rear wheel. The drums are not included in the package and must be purchased separately. Also, always double-check the correct part for your specific car make/model/engine type on the manufacturer's website.
No, they won't fit. You'll need to know your Camry's VIN number to determine whether or not it's an American model.

My 2001 Toyota Rav4 is the only vehicle with this problem (probably). I also purchased drum pads and disks, but only the shoes proved to be problematic. According to the dealer, the lever arm's post was too close to the shoe's lip, preventing the lever arm from being installed. Best Regards, br>br> The drums were fantastic, but I'd like to return the shoes, despite the fact that the return period has expired. I've always had good luck with Raybestos products, so this mismatch was unexpected; I don't believe the rear brakes have ever been serviced before, but given the mileage, it's possible they have. I didn't install them myself, so I can't say why they didn't fit; however, the dealer stated that they tried their hardest.
6 months ago, I replaced the OEM brake shoes on my 2002 Camry. These new Raybestos shoes are shown in the first photo. I decided to have a look because both of my rear brakes were making a lot of squeaky noises recently. These Raybestos shoes, as reported by other buyers, produce a lot of dust and wear out quickly, as seen in the second picture, where the brake is completely covered in dust. These shoes have worn to the same condition as my OEM shoes did after ten years in just six months! After cleaning out the dust, the third photograph shows that the rear right shoe is only half-thickness. The shoe is simply made of a very soft material. I'll be in need of new brake shoes again soon.
When compared to my original Toyota brakes, they appeared to be a little cheap right out of the box. Despite this, I put them in place. That was a huge blunder. br>br>It wasn't long before I heard some intermittent squeaking/squealing on one side, which got louder as time went on. I assumed it would simply fade away with time, perhaps as a result of a break-up. in a period of time or something. Or, gasp, perhaps I installed them incorrectly, which didn't make sense given that the issue was isolated to one side. I did get in touch with a representative from the factory. I got the standard token response, which was not very helpful. I checked for a couple of weeks. I double-checked everything on the installation except the shoes (yes, I turned the drums and it didn't stop the squealing, and yes, I used all new hardware – springs, retainers, and so on). Nothing was of any assistance. I can't tell you how many drivers gave me strange looks. It made me feel humiliated. br>br>Finally, I came to the conclusion that heck- with- It's time to put on a new pair of shoes – a real pain in the neck if you've ever had your brakes replaced. Beck Arnley shoes were purchased by me. There was a significant difference in quality that I noticed. In every way, the Beck Arnley shoes outperform the competition. I was thinking to myself, "Damn, I should have gotten these first," but would the squealing stop if I changed the shoes? Yes, …100% is the answer! The Beck Arnley's work flawlessly and are whisper quiet. Very nice. Braking that is smooth. So, what was the source of the squeaking? br>br> A small piece of metal was left on the shoe due to poor manufacturing and quality control at RAYBESTOS, rubbing/vibrating on the inside and causing the intermittent noise. But here's the kicker: I reported the issue to the manufacturer. I thought it was reasonable to request a warranty refund because their product was defective. They just said no! They stated that refunds are not available. So, after all of the effort and time, what's next? They couldn't see fit to refund my meager twenty dollars because of the time and effort they wasted on their stupid brake shoes. I paid a certain amount of money for them. Raybestos provides excellent customer service. You guys win the prize. br>br>I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT PURCHASE THESE RUDE SHOES!.
They are compatible with the Toyota Camry 04 (Vin Start 4) model.
So, I replaced my worn-out rear brakes in that regard. The vehicle comes to a good stop. So they're great in that regard? For a RAV4 from 1998, this item is a perfect fit.
I took them to the shop to have them installed after I bought them. Fortunately, I did not require brake replacement; the problem was due to a lack of brake fluid. Although I did not have the opportunity to use the product, it was delivered promptly and was exactly as described.
BEST.
There was a lot of dust, and it didn't seem to last as long as I expected; I'll try b/a to see if the quality is better. I'm not sure what's going on because I just put new drums in.
