You can spray the backside of the brake pads with varnish and letting them set until they are very gooey. Normally, I spray the pads on the backside before taking the brakes apart, so that they are ready to install once they have been removed from It's important to perform a test on the pads before spraying the backside. The parts company will not accept returns for sprayed pads! Avoid spraying the surface of the pads that is in contact with the skin! Check the directions on the side of the can when in doubt!

Back when I worked at the front end shop in Atlanta, all pads were finished with this. It has never been a problem for us when brake pads are noisy or screeching. This is the tool I use every time I service brakes! One time I tried something cheaper, and the pad had to come off and I had to use permatex instead. The best! No one else does it like us!.
