Only one wheel should be covered.

Is this part compatible with a 2003 5? 2WD Chevrolet Avalanche with a 3 liter engine ?

I'm not sure. That's what I did with a '99 Chevy. Make sure the numbers are correct.

Is this shield applicable to both the driver and the passenger?

Yes, both sides are compatible. Only the front is available. On the passenger side, I put it to use.

I have a 95 GMC K2500, and the original shield disintegrated, so I've only ever seen a three-hole shield. Is this the right one?

On a 2006 Silverado, I used this.

Original equipment manufacturer (OEM) knuckles and bearing assemblies. The original units were rusted to bits, and I couldn't get the bearing assembly out of the knuckle for the life of me. I was able to replace the knuckles, bearing assemblies, and dust shields all at the same time. Even with non-standard sizes, these were a perfect fit. The product is well-made and fits the 2005 Yukon XL Denali perfectly. I primed and painted it again, then clear coated it to make it more durable. Even though it's a cheap part, Access is a pain, so I'm not worried if I can make it last longer.
