It has a good seal and is threaded properly. It gets the job done and isn't a one-time use item like the OEM nylon bleed screw. br>Warning: This is a risky business. br>Be careful when screwing it in because the screw and the filter housing are both aluminum, and the housing can easily be damaged. This is not a criticism of the product; I knew exactly what I was getting when I purchased it. I'm simply attempting to assist others in their search for a suitable replacement. The OEM nylon screw is a one-time use item that breaks if overtorqued, ensuring that the housing is not damaged. If you overtorque this aluminum one, you'll ruin the housing. If you tighten it too much, you'll have to prime it again, and if you tighten it too much, you'll need a new filter housing.
This was installed on my LBZ, and the screw is far superior to the nylon OEM screw. The o ring that came with the screw, on the other hand, quickly deteriorated. I'm not sure if it was the heat in the engine bay or the diesel fuel, but the OEM o ring is heat and oil resistant. It isn't the one that comes with this screw.
br>Would recommend this product because it fits like a glove and works well.
On my 2008 Duramax, I suspected a faulty filter housing. however- Given how old it was, I decided to start by replacing the factory bleed screw. The source of the leak turned out to be that. This is an excellent screw.
I needed to replace a factory screw that was becoming stripped. Then I bought it for $12 and it's fantastic! I wish I had bought this air bleeder a long time ago.
It sure beats the dealership's plastic bolt, which had the head break off while the screw was still threaded in the pressure thing. Is that a screw made of plastic?.
My 2016 Chevy 3500hd Duramax LML had an incorrectly sized O ring on the bleeder screw. Fortunately, I had an O ring kit on hand, and I was able to match it to the original size, and it now works perfectly. Keep your original O ring so you can size it when replacing this part.
OK, but there was no o ring, so I had to use an old one.
