There will be an increase in traffic and this is normal. It will not affect the parts of the rotor such as the hat, vents, and other areas of the rotor that do not come into contact with the pads. If your vehicle was left stationary or exposed to the elements for a long period of time, rust will eventually build up around the braking surface of the rotors. You can scrape off this build up of rust by keeping your vehicle in motion and letting the brake pads clean the rust off the braking surfaces as soon as you put the vehicle in motion.
