A 2102 F- unit was the unit I requested By following the directions, it is a direct fit into the 350 Ford.
It is not possible to adjust the tension. Like the lift assist air cylinders on a hatchback, they provide air to move the car.
It does not work on an 01 Ford F 150, which is all I've ever experienced with this model. There is too much length to the piston, so the tailgate will not There was no problem in refunding my money to that company. My apologies, but I am unable to assist you. I don't

The one who touches it won't like There is no point in getting one for an F250 SD tail gate, as many people have told me. I installed it with no trouble, but had a few problems with the nuts Using the straightening tool was not a problem, and you just have to be careful not to overtighten. In light of all that, I decided to go ahead and install the 2nd tailgate on the passenger side. To do that, I enlarged the hole in the factory factory tail gate I found the procedure for installation to be quite easy (not sure why others were complaining). Since having 2 of these units installed, they seem to do the job of slowing the gate without causing any serious breakdowns. Whether they will hold up after repeated opening and closing of the tailgate will only be determined with time.
As far as I can tell, I cannot see how this can be resolved. Here's what's new The retaining clips provided in the package are faulty, so the gas shock will not grab the ball with any security. Despite my search for replacement clips, I have not succeeded in finding them. Review was lowered to one star since Dee Zee refused to send replacement clips, even if I paid for them, and I have not been able to locate any parts for.
A nutsert on my F250 Super Duty was made from cheap metal and did not last 90 days. Using the nut, the tailgate nut spins freely now that the tailgate has a small bend. My shock had to be removed in order to sit there on the Although it received 5 stars at the time of the previous purchase, it seems the weight of the Super Duty tailgate is too much for this little device.
I can't believe I waited so long to get it. A 7-piston hood fan was purchased for my early '99 F250 crew cab. There are 3 diesel engines. Installing the software was straightforward and took a little more than I asked my daughter to hand me something that was in the back of the truck a few days ago when I was working underneath the I needed her to drop the tailgate so that she could get the item. When she got it open, the weight of the tailgate falling was too much for her to handle, and she was nearly knocked over. As I was letting down the tailgate this morning, I noticed how often I have to do it one-handed and hold something with my other hand as I do it. I wondered if there was a way I could make my old heavy tailgate fall softly as the new ones do. The item I was looking for can be found on Amazon. As one of the best purchases I have ever made for my truck, I ordered it from them. I have particular issues with gas springs typically lasting very long in places like my toolbox lid, so I'm eager to see how long the gas spring lasts on this. The directions said that it couldn't be installed on the passenger side since the tailgate has to slide to the right to be removed from the truck. I was planning to put it on the passenger side of the tailgate, but after receiving it, I discovered it couldn't be installed there. As of now, I am happy with this product. If my opinion of it changes for any reason, I will come back and A heavy tailgate of any older style would be a perfect match for this.
Having been unable to install this product for quite some time, I've got a 2000 Ford While it works, it can dampen the vibration a bit too much because it only takes off a small percentage of the natural resting point when the tailgate is In my case, a steel buffer/bushing on the tailgate has impaired the ability of the tailgate to close when the new mechanism is My original intention was to remove it and return, but I ended up cutting off the metal part instead. Below is a picture of the metal piece on the other side so you can see what I removed. This will not work with your truck if you have the metal buffer/bushing. If you have it, you'll have to cut it off. If I installed a second, I would get it to slow down more, but this kit indicates that it will be installed on the A few videos are available on YouTube that show how others have done both sides. For the passenger side, they likely used another kit. Good.
I like it a lot. I was not able to easily use the nutsert assembly, but following a few steps, I managed to do so. After the nutsert has being inserted into the tailgate opening, it is important to turn the compression nut until the expansion flange is forced open so that the nutsert turns with the compression nut. Then I inserted it in the hole and twisted the compression nut to keep it from turning. I gave it a 1/4 turn head start (which was difficult to do, but I got it in), and kept tension to keep it from turning. The instructions provided me with everything I needed and it was very easy to follow. I am now able to open my truck gate smoothly and slowly after watching the instructions. It is just a week since I installed the resistance shock, but so far, it seems to be of good quality. I don't like how noisy it is, but it is nice to be able to open the tailgate without it slamming in my face. I have updated For a couple months now, I've been using the product during the hot summer months in Southern California. This has not been a problem for me. In another review, it is mentioned that it works better in colder weather, but I have only used it in temperatures between 65-80 degrees. The temperature was 105°F without any.
I found the installation to be a bit challenging, but it was not too difficult. As soon as the product is installed, it is I ran into the issue where installing the nuts caused the chain to break Seriously, it would be in constant motion. The directions were followed, and I kept trying to do it without success. After searching for some suggestions on Google, I did not find anything that Thus, the bearing was free to roll, and the nutsert could not spin, so I was able to install it properly. In the end, the installation was pretty easy, although the included instructions tell you to pull the tail light back to let go of the clamps. Turn the tail light straight out towards the corner rather than pulling it straight out. These clips are placed at an angle of 45 degrees. This worked just as expected no rubbing. It was not too fast or.
