A lot of OMT's products aren't made by the company. Installation of the tailgate assist was straight forward and it works I could not use it for less then a year. It's kind of surprising when you expect a gradual descent, but it crashes down suddenly. My concern has been conveyed to Orion Motor Technologies inc (OMT). Since it states lifetime warranty, it must be a lifetime Upon their response, they replied, "We offer a six-year warranty for our products" There is no longer any warranty on your product, due to the expiration of the warranty period. It may be too late at this point for us to do much However, if you place a new order for this item, we can give you a 10% discount. "Either these companies lie about their ads for sales or they don't know how to change their ads.

UPDATE As soon as the company learned about the review, it offered me a replacement or a I am not a fan of companies that don't honor their word until they think that they may lose a customer. It would not be necessary for companies to worry about their image if they stood behind their products.

I installed this on the left side of my tailgate and it worked perfectly. As it still wanted to come down too quickly, I ordered a second one and installed it on the right side. They are made for driver-side installation only, so I had to cut part of one bracket off to fit the right side. Now both have been installed, and it works perfectly. I am very pleased with the delivery time.

The direction of travel is thus 99% correct. In their example, they missed the 1% on when to use the thread lockers. In the case of both bolts I removed, I used this compound. There were two kits in the early years and this is the updated one. The program is great and it's easy to use. I can hear a squeak coming from the shock. Although it is 100 degrees outside at 8pm and I don't use it all the time, it is not all the time I use it. As a result, when it is cooler, the temperature may drop. As far as the closing is concerned, this doesn't make any difference. As if no shock has occurred, the lid closes. There is only one way to look at that shock. Slowing the tail gate down does nothing more than that. The second time I would buy this would be if I had two A great product, I highly recommend it.

Hardware that is of good quality. [Update]* I am certain this company sent me a bad shock, as they reached out to help me. The company cares a lot about its customers and does great work. It still works like a champ with the tailgate assist, although it is loud. Even though I still use the product and love it, the noise shocks sometimes make it annoying, but I am happy knowing this company takes great care of their clients (First review) and this one works fine. The shock is on its way out, but it's loud as if it's about to burst. There were some issues with the hardware but it is a fantastic and super easy to install piece of gear. This part fit nicely on my 2019 Ford F150 XLT 3. I wish it didn't make the noise it does, but it fitted nicely on the F150. Five liters.

Having watched some of the reviews, I found the lift gates in those were a little easier to use. It comes down much more smoothly than mine. Mine makes a noise (like something being torn) and the tailgate comes down fairly quickly. It doesn't slam down as fast as it would without the gate assist
I am not completely satisfied with it, but it is functional and for the time being I did not want to take it apart. This is the shock I'm going to use until the shock fails, then I'm going to purchase another higher quality one.
