The Bushwacker 48516 will not fit your 2014 Sierra 1500. Thank you for contacting us.
I believe it should be fine, but might be a little long. But it is easily cut if necessary
As far as I know, there are no requirements for Avalanche 2008. I have a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD with a standard bed. I find the TailGate Cap works very well.
Selected User Reviews For Bushwacker 48516 OE-Style Ultimate Tailgate Cap for 2007-2013 Sierra 1500; 2007-2014 Silverado 2500 HD, 3500 HD
The camper shell that came with my 2013 Sierra 1500 required an upgrade, so I decided to get one of these to replace the OE "Whale Tail" cap. My order arrived much faster than expected, and I had no problem installing it. simply fits over the existing holes without the need for drilling out the threads for the OE whale tail cap (as I have seen some other people doing in YouTube I would have to say that the most difficult part about this installation was removing all of the adhesive residue from the OEM After that was all cleaned off completely, this Bushwhacker cap was on and ready in a matter of It would be great if that were the case.
Removal of the old adhesive proved to be the most difficult part. Fortunately, it was fairly straightforward to install the Bushwacker cap once the installation was complete. I and my wife centered it together, and it fit like a glove. I placed it on my 2009 GMC Sierra and it looks great. During a hot summer day, I installed it out in the sun in about 85 degrees, put a couple clamps to keep it in place for a few hours, and it is sturdy enough to hang there. There is really no way to go wrong with the price of this item. It's easy for the person who wants to do it themselves.
I think this really cleans up and covers up the factory holes on the tailgate. issue I have with the packaging is the way it was packaged. In my case, it arrived bent with a slight crease in the plastic, as others have mentioned in the reviews. Fortunately, it was a hot enough day that I was able to put it in direct sunlight and work out the crease. I was able to work out the details after I installed it. There is still a crease where I can see it, but it is unlikely that anyone else will notice. There would be an effective cure for this if the shipping packaging were more robust, but that would cost more or require shipping to be paid.
No disappointments to be found here. I needed to cover those whaletale holes in the tailgate of my 03 Silverado because it didn't come with a tailgate cap. My preferred bushwhacker was found through some research. As I tested fitting the tailgate liner, I noticed that the backside interfered with it. To make sure the liner was clear, I cut 1/4" off the backside of the cap with a small cutoff wheel. We worked on it for about 10 minutes. As well, the product had a slight bow at the top - so I added 3 3" pieces of 3/4" wide double-sided tape (instead of 1/4" wide) at the top underside of the cap in case the 1/4" wide tape ever became froggy. The cap is a very fine looking one, according to me. There are no obvious cheap-feeling or looks to the plastic. It is of excellent quality and has nice-looking shapes. There's no doubt I'll consider this brand again in the future.
This purchase met my expectations. In order to install a camper shell on my truck, I had to remove the whale tail that came with the truck. If the 3M tape really sticks, be sure to watch a YouTube video before attempting to mount it.
Tailgate caps of this kind are usually made of strong, durable materials. I found it simple to install and it fits perfectly. As I ordered the incorrect item, it didn't fit my order. Chevrolet / GM was printed on the outside of the box. My truck does not have the car platform listed on the box and the product was clearly for Ford / Mazda. A refund was promptly issued by Amazon after I informed them. In the future, I intend to order BushWacker products from another vendor. I ordered a replacement from another vendor and they provided the right product.
A new unit was installed on a 2012 GMC 2500 HD 4-wheel drive diesel ranch truck to replace the OEM with a loose and blown-off unit. It took about five minutes for the installation to be completed. The old OEM tape & other old components should be removed With a scraper and MEK, I managed to clean over an hour's worth of residue. The skin must be completely removed! There is tape on all four perimeter sides of the Bushwacker to ensure a solid seal. There is no doubt the OEM version looks better, but this one is thicker. Compared to OEM, this is a significantly better price. We are very pleased with how things are going so far.
This is an easy to install software. Add extra 3M automotive tape for extra adhesive. I was able to fill in the factory holes without any trouble. Even though the Amazon fitment guide says it won't fit, it fits my 2002 GMC Sierra. The curve is quite slight, but not very noticeable once the ring is in place. It appears to be an excellent purchase for the price. It is my hope that this helps someone out. I appreciate it.
