Questions & Answers

A car's high beams can be seen from how far away it is, if you set one inch of this aside Do beams exist?

My guess is that it is at least a hundred yards away. As I rode behind someone as I tried it on my bike helmet, I was surprised at how reflective it was. I really like how it shows up. Light is also affected by the angle from which it is reflected. Although I are using the white and black helmets, I think the black is more visible it might be because there is more of it on the

This tape is very durable, but how long does it last? The first step is to experiment with striping on a painted metal surface (car), but I need to be able to revert the decision. ?

The tape came off after pealing the vinyl off and left the adhesive behind. I used my finger to roll the adhesive residue into a ball and popped it off the vinyl. There is no need for chemicals.

Does anyone have any experience applying this to leather riding jackets? How did the results turn out for you?

Hey I bought it last year, in plastic it gets really sticky really fast but I can't get it to stick to cloth. I tried it on leather and it worked for just a few days because it started coming out in some areas immediately and after that it got really difficult to take it Despite this, the reflection is great on the tape.

What is the difference between Scotchlite and The question is What should I do? Some reviews of this product imply that it isn't Scotchlite at all
5/5

But it is Scotchlite, even though the package insert refers to it as In my research, I found that 3M product number (79922) is described as Scotchlite. To be sure, I purchased a roll of 79922 directly from 3M (twice as much as It comes in the same package, with the same insert and with the same products. It is necessary to strip the adhesive liner sheet from this product in order to apply the adhesive. Rather than being applied when surfaces and tapes are cool, I found this product works best when they are warm. It is necessary to remove the clear plastic liner on the black surface of the tape in order to bring out the reflective properties. When viewed under a light source, it shines bright white once it has been peeled away. There's only one disappointment, and that's the very shallow angle of reflection. If you orient your eyes at 90 degrees to the material, the material is most reflective. Any angle 2 degrees or so off of 90, either up or down, diminishes the reflective properties. If you move your head 5 degrees to the right, you'll no longer see the reflection. On one of my motorcycles, I put this product on the black luggage. I don't feel comfortable riding this bike at night because it is so black when it comes out of the factory. A little piece of mind is given to me by adding this material. We'll have to see how well the luggage works since its surfaces are flat but slightly slanted upwards from level. In addition to this material, some of it was applied to the tube structure on which the luggage is mounted. As a result, I expect to see the rear of the bike from a greater angular viewpoint. I will give it 4 stars only due to the very shallow angle of reflection. There are a few more degrees and it could be a 5 star product.

***EDIT*** The star rating was changed to 5. Making my bike more visible at night is such a huge improvement! It is worth pointing out that the actual angle of reflection is greater than I reported. It's going to be applied around the base of my helmet as well as higher up on the back, in order to be sure I'm Uploading pictures is on my to-do list.

Reflective tape that works very well
5/5

The tape is great. The color is reflective. I would call it more of a dark charcoal color than a There is no sticky residue on the tape. Although there is a clear protective layer on top of the film, you can peel it off and it will keep reflecting. Nevertheless, it will not be as reflective as you might expect. I was very satisfied with my overall experience. My objective was to add more visibility and safety while driving or changing a tire without adding giant red and white stickers and being identified as In addition to its great looks, reflective tape is also very durable, unlike a road flare or emergency blinkers. I'll give you a few You will want to prepare your area before applying in order to ensure that it stays there for as long as possible. When applying longer strips, press them down as you adhere them from one side to the other. This will help keep them from creasing. You should press it down firmly before removing the clear protective layer, so that there will be no bubbles or creases. Overall, I highly recommend this and would highly recommend it as good stuff.

This is incredible! In order to add some reflective elements to my bicycle, I bought this product
5/5

The cars I primarily ride with at night has always worried me, and I ride at night a lot. The product does exactly what it is supposed to do, and it does it The following is a list of the installation steps Despite its ease of installation, the tape is quite durable You should clean the surface first. Once the surface is clean, cut the piece to length, peel off the backer tape, and stick it The front poly film needs to be removed once the frame is in place. In response to another comment, when people complain that the tape is not reflective, all I can think of is that they did not peel the plastic away from the front side mine was SUPER reflective, but I had some difficulty peeling the poly off the front side. had to take my short fingernails and pick at it with them for a few seconds to remove it. When all is said and done This is a very small issue. The only thing I had to deal with was trying to remove the tape once I put it on. I was able to move it around using only my fingers. It hasn't started to peel off on me yet after a month of regular use, so I can't comment on how it will come off once it has been on for awhile. Blending in with black paint is also a crucial step,

Considering that all of our bikes are black, I wanted to choose something that would go well with them. The semi-annual report I submitted I don't notice the tape on my shiny Diamondback and my glossy Trek during the day, during the night it is perfectly visible. The image would have to be very closely examined to be seen. His Giant is so flat black that the tape is clearly visible even though it has a matte paint finish The thing would be hard to notice from a casual glance, but if you looked closely, you would find The number of copies in each batch Here is the Trim on a bike should be at least 5 inches wide. A perfect fit is achieved with this mount. It is plausible that you would want a wider version if your surface was larger (wider) than a bike frame tube. As of today, I still have a fair amount of tape left after doing 3 adult bikes and taping most tube sections (except over the logo stickers). The Fourth Reflection – Reflect on your experiences and take action. I cannot stop listening to this tape. I expected the reflection capabilities to be much better than they are. There is no issue with the angle of reflection or distance from which it reflects. In my opinion, the comments on 100m are fairly accurate when viewed from a 90 degree angle, since they relate to the angle of observation used. With viewing angles moving away from 90, brightness decreases, but this is only meant to improve visibility, and isn't meant to act as An active reflector is not sufficient if you have to be seen from an extreme angle and you are NOT in a suitable light. The original intention of this item was to add lighting to the sides of my bike, but I also added the lights to the front and back to round out the look. Finally, I would like to state the following A great option for blending well with a black background, this tape is reflective and blends into the background. A great deal of value for the money.

The product is very good I have used this reflective striping tape on many projects, and it was perfect
5/5

It was easy to install and VERY reflective. I was a bit concerned at first since it didn't look like a glossy black product in the packaging. It's still true. I was very impressed with this product after applying it to my motorcycle helmet and removing the protective outer layer! I am conspicuous, though my helmet is already prominent due to its fluorescent green and black color. Adding a strip around the bottom edge made my visibility even more apparent. Both 1/4" and 1/2" of the reflective tape were purchased by me (I used the 1/4" on my helmet) and when the weather warms up I will be able to see my black KLR 650 much more clearly. As soon as the 1/4" tape was installed, it was very easy to bend around curves as it would bend around curves very Since I haven't tried it on anything circular, I won't be able to comment.
