The Husband of the User posting the Several years ago, I'd been dealing with a window lock switch that wouldn't function, but it wasn't really until one day I rolled all my windows down and only three of them would go back up that I knew it was time to replace it. Generally, I get OEM parts from the dealer, but when I did the math and found the OEM to cost $150, I decided to change to after market. Several switches had a price range between $21 and As I am sure you are doing, I read several reviews on each of them. Okay, here's what you need to know This switch arrived, it took me maybe 10 minutes to set it up, and it's working I had no difficulties installing this product. I used all original screws and had no need to modify anything at all. While pressing the buttons, the switch feels slightly different from that of the other buttons-not in a bad way or in a good way, just differently. Now I do recommend that if you are making this switch replacement that you, A) Add the bezel to the order, or B) Remove the door panel completely to avoid damaging the bezel tabs. My bezel was already replaced a few months ago, so I knew what I needed to do. In addition to this, I ordered another that was the same as this one. 5HZ71XDVAD, 5HZ71XDVAE ) Sold by Red Hound Auto. FITS 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 2500 3500 Quad Cab Bezel Dark Gray for Master Window Switch Panel Plate. The information is provided here so you can place the order if you wish (I am not associated with Red Hound or Switch Doctor in any way).
Towards the end of 2002, I began experiencing problems with my RAM 1500 Quad Cab pickup's OEM switch panel. It is tedious to pound on the panel every time an individual wants to use the power window. Because the OEM replacement would be so much more costly, I decided to go with an aftermarket part. It is a 15-year-old truck, isn't it? Even though the fit and finish of the car and the ease of installing the two new cables were great, and the power windows and door locks worked flawlessly, the directional buttons for the mirrors acted erratically. It is sometimes possible to move the mirror with a light touch on the buttons. At other times, one would need a heavy amount of It was even worse, most of the time, the buttons did not move the mirrors at all. Even if it's a defective part, I'm thinking I'll have to buy an OEM one to be on the safe side. Part of this part is DOA and will be returned.
After checking my car, I concluded the master switch window lock was the culprit. I bought this $25 replacement part (as opposed to the over $100 I would have paid at an auto store) and it works fine. A bright light enlightens the room. I am impressed with the quality of the switches. Additionally, it does what it is supposed to do.
It will not be possible to incrementally roll the window down using this switch. As soon as you push the switch, it goes into automatic down mode. In fact, I did contact the seller and they sent me another after jumping through quite a few As unfortunate as it may sound, the replacement exhibits the exact same problem as the original. If you plan on using another switch, I recommend you do so. One star extra for the fact that they sent me another one after I filled out a form and provided a credit card number. The return policy isn't the best, but it is what it is. In addition, the kids are happy to roll down their own windows, so they get a little extra start. Dad's window does not matter to them how bad it is.
The driver's door window would not close automatically, despite being As replacing the switch requires removing the door panel, I waited until I was about to replace my regular mirrors with two mirrors, which required me to remove my door panel. As I had to remove the panel for them anyway, I managed to kill two birds with one stone and only had to remove it Hopefully, now my trailer window will go down the way it should (and I'll be able to see behind the trailer, as well), so it was indeed a worthwhile project. Just for fun, price that same switch at your local parts counter and see what they charge!.
It worked for a few months before this switch was made. When the driver side back door started to open, it would show as "Door Ajar". The lock on our front door needed to be replaced, so I did While driving, I noticed that the passengers' windows could not be opened, and that the same door lock would randomly change from ajar to closed and back. This switch was finally replaced, and all my issues went away. My return of the lifetime warranty switch was a hassle that I didn't want to deal with. You could just replace the switch yourself for a modest amount of money. The switch you're buying is a dud!.
Buying is not a good idea! Although the switch could be easily installed, it does not seem to live up to the quality of the OEM from a build standpoint. Auto buttons stop half way down on my computer and do not operate as they do on OEM computers. Nonetheless, if the button is pressed continuously, the windows will go up and Updating the switch, it has a short within it and can sometimes work. There was about a 6 week shelf life on this product! This is not a product I would recommend!.
It is easy to In order to remove the switch, both the bezel and the knob must be removed. If not, you can Attach the new switch to the bezel by unscrewing the three philips screws that secure the bezel to the switch. The switch and bezel need to be inserted into the door panel coupled with the two wiring connectors. It took less than 5 minutes for the process to go through and the controls appear to work.
