Questions & Answers

Will this fit a 1998 Chevrolet Tahoe 5?

I tested it on a suburban from 2001 that was not the same generation as the 98, so I doubt it will work.

Will this fit a Chevy 1500 from 1998?

No, it won't work because they're not the same; this one is for 1999 Silverados and 2000 suburban/Tahoe models. I know because I owned both body types and had them replaced.

Is this compatible with a Tahoe LT from 2004?

My 2001 Suburban Z71 was able to use the part I ordered.

Will this fit my 2001 Chevrolet 2500HD 4x4?

I don't think there's any reason why it shouldn't be done. My 2001 Chevy Silverado z/71 was able to use it successfully. It fit perfectly and performs admirably. It was a breeze to set up.

By adjusting the dimmer switch up and down a few times, I was able to get the interior/dash lights to work intermittently
5/5

The back lighting in the dash instrument and radio panel would be completely out in a 2001 Chevy Suburban. I was able to get the interior/dash lights to work intermittently by adjusting the dimmer switch up and down several times until I found the sweet spot. br>I'd had it with fiddling with the switch for a long time. I learned how to replace a dimmer switch on a 2002 Suburban by watching a YouTube video. It took less than five minutes to complete the task. Pull out the dimmer switch by removing the dash trim, which can be done without any tools. Replace the trim after connecting the new switch. br>A new switch assembly was installed in place of the original. FINALLY, THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN SOLVED! br>Amazon part-to-part match-up- The set-up was flawless. br>Installation was a breeze. Order Communications received a lot of positive feedback. br>Item was shipped and received in good condition.

On a 2001 GMC Yukon, we repaired the broken dash lights
5/5

It's simple to set up and doesn't require any special equipment. This was a fantastic deal, and it fixed my 2001 GMC Yukon's broken light switch. br>br>The dimmer switch had failed, and I couldn't see any of my dash board gauges at night, including speed, tach, gas, radio lights, or anything else that was controlled by a dimmer switch. I actually dismantled the broken old one in an attempt to repair it, and discovered it to be quite primitive in comparison to today's high-tech world. The lights in the dash are dimmed by three copper "fingers" that wind back and forth across a plate. They become dirty, worn out, or whatever a physical switch can become over time. In any case, attempting to repair it for the cost of replacement is pointless. br>br>It's simple to set up and doesn't require any special equipment. By gently pulling the small metal tabs out of the holes in the dash trim surrounding the odometer area, you can remove it. To remove the steering wheel completely, you must place it on the ground. Remove the previous one and replace it with this one. br>br>The beauty of Amazon, in my opinion, is not so much in the fact that you can save a few dollars on a blender or other item, but rather in the fact that you can truly problem-solve. Search for "2001 GMC Yukon dash lights broken" and you'll discover that not only is a solution available, but it's also inexpensive and simple. I'm not sure how much the dealer would charge, but I'm guessing it would be at least $250. br>br>I based my decision on information from other reviews and made an educated guess on the part; I hope this review is useful to others!.

Easy
5/5

I consider this one the fastest and easiest auto repair I've ever done, because I am so concerned with the air filter and wiper blades; I had a good situation with nothing wrong, no bad wires. It was only a matter of making sure I found the right part from an estimate.

I was able to save $200
5/5

My auto shop estimated that replacing my dash lights would cost $220. They said I needed a new headlight switch, but I decided to take a chance and order one from Amazon for around $45. It took me 45 seconds to completely replace it and turn the car on, and then BOOM, there was light! It's fantastic! In the dark, I can now see my speedometer, air conditioning controls, and radio. It's hard to believe how simple it was!.

The problem with the dimmer on the instrument panel lights in the 2001 GMC Sierra has been resolved
5/5

The back lighting on the dash instrument panel would flicker and occasionally turn off as a symptom. br>By spinning the dimmer switch up and down a few times, I could usually get the lights to turn on. br>I simply replaced the original switch assembly with this one, and the lights now function properly. br>The whole job took less than 15 minutes. The dash trim must be removed, which is a simple task that requires no tools. br>I couldn't find a video that showed how to replace just this switch, but if you want to see how to remove the dash trim, look up "Remove GMC Instrument Cluster. " Although the Instrument cluster is not required, the initial steps for removing the trim remain the same. The video was made for a song that was released in 2003. Although the year was 2006, the dash was identical to that of my 2001 Sierra C3.

It's simple to put together and it fits like a glove
5/5

Installing it is a breeze. It was most likely five minutes long. And the lights on my dashboard have been turned back on! I'm so proud of myself. br>br>If the dash lights on your Chevy/GMC 1999 - 2000 are out, This is the part you're looking for if you're looking for something from the year 2005. br>br>For installation instructions, look up Chevy headlight switch on YouTube. br>br>This is by far the simplest truck replacement I've ever done.

Savings of $150 on a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban Perfect Fit
5/5

The instrument panel light dimmer on the 2002 Chevy Suburban stopped working after 14 years and 185,00 miles. This switch is a match made in heaven. Turn the key to ACC and pull the shifter down into low gear for access, snap off the trim cover, and un-lock the door. re-wire the old dimmer switch with a wire packet clipped to it. Snap the trim cover back on and connect the wire socket to the new switch. You'll save $200 at the dealer if you take 15 minutes out of your day. It works great, it's a simple fix, and it arrived in 1 1/2 days thanks to Amazon Prime.

A Bad Switch was given to me
3/5

The switch was delivered to me and I installed it. Even after that, the dash light was not working. After chasing fuses and wires for several days, I came to a halt. up to the new switch once more Yes, you guessed correctly. It had a negative impact. Everything worked fine after I bought a new one locally. Be cautious of what you buy.
