When the locks are installed, the locks need to be placed in the plastic After installing the plastic cover several times before the lock engaged, I had to take it out and reinstall it again. It's probably best not to use locks again if I could do it over again. Honestly, I'm not convinced they prevent rack theft or even reduce it to any significant extent.

I found a discount on the Aeroblade roof bars because someone else purchased the wrong size. The bars seem to line up perfectly on the roof, and the edges of the bars are tapered to the edges. Anyway, one of the reasons I am writing this review is because last night there were several storms that caused 60 mph winds to reach 80 mph straight lines in the Midwest. There are two trees knocked down, and two semis rollover in the street The whole thing is As I was driving south at highway speeds and the winds were directly out of the west, the wheels of my bike were so firmly mounted on the roof that when the winds picked up and tried to shift my bike, they pulled the wheels Nevertheless, the bike was in great condition when I got it back from the storm, all the bolts were tight, the rack was untouched, and the bike mount fit perfectly. A customer for life after I used any of their products and was very happy with them.

I have had it mounted for a few years now and I want to provide an update The biggest issue with these is their price. A driver or front passenger water leaks in through the drivers door and the front passenger door during heavy rains The car is a VW GTI / Golf Mk6 (2015). In the place where the legs have been installed (between the door and roof), water comes in. A rubber set of 4 pieces/gaps come in the box which is supposed to help create a better seal on certain cars, but water has leaked in regardless whether or not they are used. After double checking, everything was tightened down and set up according to the manual (this is my 6th rack installation, so I am very familiar with what needs to be done, but I still thought I would double check the instruction manual). The windows have two panes of glass on both sides It is suggested that I use rubber gaskets of a specific length, but even with those, I have leaking. Only when the car is soaking wet does the damage occur, as it isn't a big leak as much as a little bit here and there that add up over time. This is really surprising to me that there is a huge trend in Founders of Thule sell a product that appears to be the perfect fit for customers' cars, but the product actually leaks water into the car and eventually damages it. This is extremely surprising that Thule, the largest name in the rack business, hasn't made any changes to their fitment issues, and is continuing to sell these racks as direct fit despite being aware of these leaking issues across many makes and models of automobiles/trucks. Even though it's unrealistic to expect an EXACT fitment for every customer's car due to the fact that no two vehicles are alike, you might think that something as big as water leak My leak issues are not unique among those found online, according to a quick search. Several complaints of this nature have been made. Either of the following should be considered In order to solve the fitment issues, or to prevent people from purchasing those specific cars and expecting them to work well, either a) address the issue or b) remove them from their compatibility lists. Even a few drops of water here and there is not that big of a deal but when those drops of water leak on your window switch and leather doors cards long enough to damage and malfunction the window switch (where it leaks mostly) or lift/bow the leather from It's all right. A problem of that magnitude exists. Thus, the situation goes beyond just being an inconvenience to being a fitment issue that could potentially damage customers' I just wanted to get this out to you. For those of you who are considering these, I would recommend searching online forums or Google to check whether your model will be affected by leaking. It won't become obvious until it rains hard enough or you go through a drivethrough car wash that you have a leaking compartment. Installation of these locks was quick and simple. I had hoped to get an all metal key pictured in the picture. I had metal keys with a plastic part at the end, so it wasn't the best. It appears that the locks are functioning correctly. Getting the key out and removing it is a straightforward process. There's no need for a special key to insert or remove it.

Thule locks ensure that only honest people can use them. If someone really wants your gear and rack, they will find a way to It's a good way to slow them down and protect your hands from sticky fingers. My existing keys were fine with this program. Let the seller know what locks you need to match the existing hardware so you can ensure everything fits.

You need protection for your gear if you live in NYC. As well as providing a good fit and easy installation, they also create a false sense of security since the case in which they fit is made of plastic which is easy to break. If someone really wants your roof rack then this will only help deter them a little, hopefully they will choose a simpler target anyway. It fits and it locks, but if they really want it, then these will only serve as a deterrent.
