The clip/lock that holds it in place has to be pressed before it can be popped The flat screwdriver I had to use to find it was a tiny one my dad had. It was remarkably easy for us to locate and remove the old one, after which the new one was installed almost instantly! I wish you the best of

Unfortunately, I also did not get it to work. All of them have been replaced. Neither look different, and switching them is as easy as changing a button. I would assume that there is another problem with the ground.
The key fob has nothing to do with the door switch. The key fob communicates via radio with the cars computer, which sends out a command to the solenoids for opening and locking the doors. This switch does not work through the door.

There was a problem with the driver door switch in the 2000 Saturn that caused the door locks to chatter. Almost every time I used the phone the battery died, so I decided I had to fix it. We found the part here for less than at the local parts store and it worked perfect. Here is a quick guide to installation. Door handles themselves can be removed without any problem. Only the switch must be removed. Put a thin screwdriver around the housing of the switch so it will come In the same vein, the odd connector should also be removed. You must push in on the inner plastic piece with a screwdriver to get it out so your new one can be connected. You can install it in less than five minutes.
In order to replace OEM parts that had stop springs that broke, I bought two of these. In a short period of time, I've replaced the exhaust on two cars from the same plastic, about the size of a cheap ballpoint pen tip, is what moves the big finger switch back into the middle. The genius design created by GM/AC Delco, with a guarantee to fail eventually and need servicing, received my gratitude. work perfectly fine and snapped in easily, but unfortunately snapped out pretty easily, as well. In order to avoid returning them and trying to find another more expensive option, I heated a tab carefully by pressing it outward. The result was a burned bit of plastic (who needs warranties anyway? ) on the first attempt, but a better fit and a more secure fit inside the shroud for both tab pairs. Maybe the company can improve the molding process to produce tabs that hold better on this part.
To be clear, these were the tabs on the black inner/middle switch housings. My modifications were only made after testing that the switches worked properly and were otherwise compatible. I did not make any modifications to the inside of the white switch or to the black shroud. It's been just over three weeks now and I haven't experienced any loosening or problems.
I fitted my 2000 Saturn Sl2 perfectly with this belt. I lost two used batteries after my car destroyed them, and I was frightened that it would happen again, so I disconnected the new battery when not working on it. fortunate to hear an odd noise while working on something unrelated, which I discovered was coming from my door locks constantly swapping between locked and unlocked. I quickly searched on Amazon for a cheap solution and found the solution there. The process of installing this lock by myself took me about 5 minutes total, from opening the package to testing it out. I am a female with no car experience. I got rid of my "chattering" door lock problems in minutes with this app. I have not experienced this issue again since I resolved it months ago, and my battery has not discharged. There was only one worn-down lock in the driver's side, so that was the only one I needed to replace. There was nothing to complain about with this lock, and it was definitely worth the money spent. Also, it matches all of the other locks on the keys and is quite attractive from a color standpoint.
It arrived one day early and I received two switches that installed very easily (because Saturn made great cars), and I had both installed within I love how they look and how they work. There is one thing to keep in mind In the passenger door, the switch housing is arranged in a different way from the one on the driver's door and needs to be saved. You're good to go once you snap in the wire assembly, and then you snap the switch and housing into the door. The cost is half that of a factory part (Delco, etc. ), and its quality is equal.
In the morning, I noticed that the battery had died. Although I tested the battery and alternator, they both functioned as they should. We did not discover what the real problem was until we walked by the car and heard its door lock and unlock like a machine gun. I spent the night dealing with this tiny little part, which led to my battery draining. The original part failed. It turns out that the plastic pivot pin broke and the switch was intermittently making contact with the plastic pivot pin, causing the locks to continuously lock and unlock. The solenoid did not burn out, so I guess it's a lucky break. I had to replace it in two minutes. It has been since then that I have been working.
Here's a picture of our 1999 Saturn SL. It happened to 1 that our battery died due to a chattering door lock. The door switch was identified as the most likely faulty component by online Saturn forum posters. pulled the connectors and then pulled the lock switch out of the door (which was surprisingly easy). As a result, the chattering stopped, and the car could be driven. Buying two of these Dormans (since they're not too expensive, I decided to replace both at the same time). It takes only a few minutes for Prime to After that, the locks were reassembled in five minutes, and I was back inside the house. There is no more chattering.
I ordered the replacement part and it arrived fast. I was able to do the installation myself after watching a YouTube tutorial and using a smaller flathead screwdriver. I have also taken apart the old broken switch and found that it is related. An extremely tiny white plastic peg sits inside a small hole in There is a hidden spring inside that hole. Basically, the pin's job is to squeeze into that spring when you push the switch so that it can return to the neutral This means that over time, that tiny white plastic pin breaks in half, and it no longer exerts any force on the switch to force it back to neutral. If I had to, I'd probably 3D print a little replacement peg or pin but honestly the switches are so cheap that it would be more economical to.
Switched on the right door with this switch. For some reason, I was not able to find the switch to open that The kit comes complete for left-, right- and center-handed users The installation is done on the side. To make a right-hand turn, you would need to Simply remove the old switch from your old bezel and insert the new one on the right hand side. It works as advertised and only takes a few minutes to replace.
