Is the pigtail for this switch available for purchase?

Is this switch the same as my old one, where you pull to turn on the lights and twist to dim the dash?

Yes, pull to turn on the headlights and twist to dim the dashboard lights.

I've placed an order for a cj5 light switch. The issue is that the old switch is not engaged by the old knob stem. Do you have any recommendations?

You could try pressing the switch's release button while inserting the shaft, or applying a small amount of dielectric grease to the shaft's end. Check to see if the old and new switches work together. Because most aftermarket parts for older Jeeps are made in China, you may need to purchase a new one. Best of luck!

The switch works fine, but it doesn't come with the retaining nut, and I don't have the old one. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks?

When you click on the "Crown Automotive J4000056 Switch Nut" on Amazon, you'll also see the "Retaining bezel." I'm guessing you'll be able to find what you're looking for between these two. Best of luck to you.

I ordered the Omix-II and it was a disaster
3/5

Based on Omix's statement, I bought an Ada headlight switch for my 1973 Jeep CJ5. It was an OE replacement, according to Ada. When it arrived, I discovered that it was a flimsy switch. It was extremely difficult to insert the knob I ordered into the switch's body, and it was nearly impossible to remove once it was in place. I'd placed a number of Omix-related orders. Ada products for the CJ5 were discovered, as were almost all of the Omix-related products. I found Ada's items to be of poor quality, and I can see why they were less expensive than other brands. I figured I'd get what I paid for, so I didn't return the items. I should have gone with my gut and purchased the more expensive brands. I will say that the switch works as advertised in terms of turning the lights on and off; however, I do not expect it to last very long.

Excellent craftsmanship
5/5

This is far superior to the original. My headlight would completely go out whenever they wanted, so this was a lifesaver. This was the solution to the problem.

It only takes 5 minutes to set up and is very effective
5/5

Jeep CJ-8, 1984 I needed a replacement switch because my dash lights were not working. Fast shipping, quick installation (5 minutes), and all of my dash lights are in perfect working order. There are no issues in this location.

For the right vehicle, this is a good part
3/5

I'm sure the part will fit the right vehicle, but it only says it fits Jeep in the description. I purchased this for my 1984 Jeep CJ 7, but when I received it, I discovered that it only fits 72-inch wheels. CJ jeeps dating back to 1979. I picked up the "same" part, but for my vehicle, from a local parts store, and it went together quickly and flawlessly. I can only assume that this product would perform similarly in the right vehicle. The product is satisfactory; however, the listing should be enhanced so that the buyer can be confident that they are ordering the correct item.
