It only took about 5 minutes to complete. I used to have a problem with flickering dash lights, and no matter which way I turned the little wheel, they would always turn off. That issue was resolved in this section. The only minor flaw is that the lights have a green tint rather than the white tint that the rest of the dash has. The green backlight is almost unnoticeable. The dash light that was dimming intermittently was fixed. I even cleaned the contacts on the original switch. It was only a stopgap measure. It is preferable to use the new switch. It's incredibly simple to alter your behavior. It's possible to do this while getting gas. You only need to engage the parking brake and fully depress the gear shifter, as well as adjust the steering wheel tilt. Remove the trim and the switch will come out easily. Simply be careful not to break anything when reattaching the trim. It's a piece of old plastic.

I took a look at a half-dozen options. Original GM or AC Delco are the only brands I buy. However, customer feedback was mixed, implying that service parts, like others, are sourced cheaply. This brand had the best reviews and a great price, plus it was a cinch to put together. If you need assistance, Google it. The trim color is a little darker than the rest of the switch, but it looks fine; I'm picky, and this switch is fantastic. On a 2005 Silverado, I fixed the inoperable dash lights.

The switch was delivered on time and in good condition. I double-checked the plug-in pins on the back of both to make sure. It's "stiff" in a new way on the first day and appears to be oem. The only difference is that this one is made in China, whereas the original was made in Mexico. I'm hoping for another ten percent increase. This switch has been in place for 15 years.

Remove the dash, disconnect the unit, and disconnect the wire harness. It will take 5 minutes to complete. As for the item's quality, it appears to be satisfactory so far. I'm not sure how long it'll last, but it's a good deal for an older truck. However, the color of the light differs from the stock, so keep that in mind - Yellow card, green card.

I was aware from reviews that the lamp had a green tint rather than the factory white/yellow, and I'm fine with that. However, I've noticed that the entire cluster's panel lamp brightness isn't quite as bright as the factory one. There isn't much of a difference, but there is enough to notice and comment on. In a short time, I'll get used to it and may even forget about it. Otherwise, it's great; it does what it's supposed to do and does it well. There are no issues.

Great replacement for me because the original had no working lights inside, but my only complaint is that the bottom area with the cargo light button does not light up, and the original might be the same way, I'm not sure, so it's possible that it's not even a defect on this replacement part, but rather original specifications. In addition, the light's greenish hue is soothing.
