If you're lucky enough to have a factory fog lamp kit and/or get your hot wire from the fuse block under the hood, the relay is already installed. go to GM- Trucks. Look up "GMT900 Chevy Foglamps Fuse Block Side" on com; it'll give you a lot of useful information. The complete fog lamp kit (plug and play) is no longer available from GM, but everything except the wiring harness can be found on eBay. [email protected] is where you can send me a private message. They function similarly to the OEM switch, except that pressing the fog light switch illuminates a green fog light symbol in the dash's left instrument cluster.
My GMC Sierra was a 2008 model, and I installed it. I'm not sure what year range this will be appropriate for.
On Canadian trucks, there are two fuses that can be pulled to turn off the drls. I believe the numbers were 32 and 33. It was discovered through the use of Google.

This was required to make my fog light installation on my non-factory equipped Silverado appear factory. The part was an AC Delco, so it fit perfectly, and the circuit from the switch to the fusebox, including the fuse and relay, was already in place (thank goodness). I still needed to connect the fusebox to the fog lights, as well as purchase the bumper ends with fog light holes and, of course, the fog lights themselves. (I'm reviewing everything I bought on Amazon). I'm sorry if this is a bit longwinded. But, while I was hunting down the parts and formulating my plan to get a setup that looked as factory installed as possible, I noticed that a lot of people had some challenging questions and comments on the forums and product sites. And it all began with this switch, which proved to be the simplest step in an otherwise straightforward conversion.
I already had ineffective factory fog lights. The lights are still not working after being replaced. The bulbs are in good shape, and the fuse and relay are in good working order. At the fuse, I don't have any power. I read somewhere that if the switch isn't turned on, there won't be any power to the fuse, so could it be a bad switch out of the box, or does anyone have any other ideas?.
It took me longer to install this switch than it did to cool the six pack I bought for the installation. Bob's your uncle, I pulled a couple of dash panels, replaced the switch, and reinstalled the dash panels. This was used as an upgrade part on my 2011 Silverado to add factor fogs. YMMV.
This switch plugged right in and lit up the fog light indicator on the dash when the headlamps were turned on and the fog switch was depressed, indicating that the fogs were on. From the factory, the vehicle was prewired. This switch was packaged in a Delco box and appears to be OEM. The price was excellent, and the shipping was lightning fast; I ordered on Thursday and received it on Saturday.
This was identified as the issue by a GMC forum, and they were correct. It's been a few months now, and there's no longer any dim dash light that we couldn't see during the day.
True plug-and-play play. There is no need for programming. It only took a few minutes to make the switch.
br>At this point, it's time to move on. Patience is always preferable to force!.
Combine this with some OEM housings and a make-your-own harness to get the factory GM fog light kit for a third of the price GM wants.
