As listed, this part doesn't fit the 2004 Malibu. The issue is actually more related to fitting than to the product.

During the replacement of a 2007 Pontiac G6 GT, I replaced this switch. You can replace this switch by removing the 3 screws on the bottom of the plastic steering wheel cover, and then gently snapping the top and bottom pieces apart. With a flat screwdriver, release the locking tabs on the top and bottom of the switch to make it easy to remove. That's all there is to it. Only 15 minutes were required for the entire process. The new Standard switch fits, works, and looks exactly like the original, and it is an extremely affordable option.
