Wrapped around the body, it was tied. The plastic cover inside the hatch had to be undone, so I did that. A release is located inside. After removing some screws, I discovered the release was in place.

As soon as the Buick was started, the tailgate opened on its I replaced this item in a simple, easy way. It takes just a few minutes to replace the original switch with a water-resistant splice cover and pry off the original switch with a small screwdriver.

It is affordable and efficient. I had to cut and file it to fit my car, although it wasn't made for my car. There is no better temporary solution than this.
