As it turns out, the switches I had had a disconnect on the side. My only worry is that the wires were pressed into the switch These cables are designed to fit into the connector without a backshell to hold the wires securely. It was the same process I used to replace them.
There is no way to fix a 1999 Ford F-150 if this does not fit

The steering wheel could not be removed. So I ripped off the old wires to remove the buttons. The wires could not be removed from the buttons and I had no choice but to remove them. Unlike the old buttons, these new ones can be pulled off by pulling the wires. The next thing I did was to work the cables between the steering wheel and the back It is short enough that it won't fit in the slots in the plastic backing (I would take a photo before removing old wires for reference) If you remove the top wire you won't be able to put it back in the slots. Be careful reinserting the wires back into the buttons so that it sits lower, but it will be fine.
It failed to work with the first one. I was able to get back into business after returning the original and receiving a new one. I found this to be very useful.
I am very pleased with the outcome. We were able to minimise installation time and route the wire with the help of disconnecting connectors from old By disconnecting the connectors from the new switch buttons and reconnecting them to the existing wires, we will be able to save space.
It looks exactly like what we need on the steering wheel, if we don't install it yet.
It is very easy to install. I left the old harness in place even though it came with a wiring harness.
The temperature rises. It is almost impossible to make the connections on the electrical system with the wires almost too short. I could not get them to work, and they became very I got worried and unplugged them when they got so hot. So long as you unplug the battery, you will have nothing to worry about. The program is very efficient. It only takes a few minutes to install the new switches if you don't replace the wiring harness. A 5/16 nut driver or socket is all you need for this task. It looks much better than before.
