It wouldn't be wise for you to try to replace this part without being careful since you will be working around an EXPLOSIVE DEVICE with presumably tools in your hands. Putting in the new part was simple and straightforward - You can proceed with caution and take your time as you route the new cable.
I'm very pleased with this purchase because it was a perfect fit. There is a connector attached to the wire harness that holds to the button assemblies. By simply disconnecting the old button from the wire harness, and plugging in the new one, I was able to replace it. I can vouch for the fact that it works. A cheaper part doesn't always mean the best. I would look for an OEM part if I had it to do over again. You can also make it simpler.
I have never experienced such a comfortable button. So far I have not had a chance to test it, but if you are going to install it yourself be careful. In case you don't know a mechanic, I recommend that you take it to a shop for installation.
