Questions & Answers

The switch has been installed but has not engaged. I'm having problems with a cruise light flashing momentarily without working?

The pressure switch located on top of the master brake cylinder is likely to be the culprit. As soon as the brakes are applied, the cruise control is disconnected.

An A2 from 2003 is in my possession. The ranger I have does not come with cruise control, and it is a 5 speed manual. Do I have the option to install it on manual transmission?

There would be several parts that would need to be installed and purchased along with these switches. To get the most out of the product, you should purchase a complete installation I would let an aftermarket business install cruise control on my vehicle if you are not a mechanic. I installed new switches in my 2003 Ranger after the cruise system was already installed.

What are the dimensions of the 1996 Ford Ranger XLT wheels?

You will be able to use it

How do I know if this will fit my 2003 Ford F150?

I tested it in my 2003 Ford F150 Heritage edition with no problems.

I like it better than the original
5/5

It took me less than 30 minutes to install these in my 2001 Ranger. There was only one thing wrong with this installation I lost the 8mm socket. In fact, I just installed the switches, not the With the new switches it was easy to remove the harness that came with them, but with the original switches it was a little more difficult Ideally, you should not have any trouble removing the original switches if you have any experience removing connectors from circuit boards or computers. There is a noticeable difference between the quality of the switches and the ones in the originals. There is more positive feedback from these micro switches, and the material covering them is different from the originals, which were susceptible to cracking over time, instead it is a thin rubbery type of material that should be much.

It works like a charm
5/5

Our 2004 Ford Explorer Sport Trac XLT had torn and tattered control switches, so I used these as a replacement. I think they're perfect and perform the way the original set did. When it comes to replacing these controls, it's obvious what you need to do. For the airbag to be safe to remove, you'll need to disconnect the battery, let it sit for 10 minutes, and then remove it. There are two nuts behind the round plastic covers on each side of the steering wheel that you need to remove the airbag, and they are easily visible. If you remove the wheel, you will also need to remove the axle. This nut is held in place by a Torx screw. There isn't much difficulty in removing the bolt, but afterward it is very difficult to remove the steering wheel. I actually used a 2-inch hex key to remove the steering wheel. When I work on suspensions, I use this arm puller. I was pleased with how it worked. When you have the wheel in your hand, it's really pretty easy to take off the old controls and put the new ones on. Putting it back on is as easy as reversing everything you did. The process can be seen in different YouTube videos. It is possible to find one that fits your specific I can figure it out if you can't if you can't. Getting the job done is something I'm glad I did.

This is a good choice
5/5

It is easy to install, works as expected, looks nice, and it is reasonably priced. I installed it within 20 minutes with only the bare minimum of tools and no special tools were needed. The ribbon cable that came with it was not used by me, as well. Having factory connectors fitted perfectly was not an issue. The other reviews can be found here. Installers need to know the details of these documents. Disconnect the negative battery cable to disable the airbag, and once this is done, set the horn and airbag assembly aside and away from you for safety reasons. Located behind the steering wheel is a shroud that has 2 snap-in covers you have to prise out in order to remove the screws holding the airbag / horn assembly in place. These old control units are each held down by 2 screws a piece. It is time to remove Take the connectors off the ribbon cable and remove them with a pair of pliers. Remove the old controls carefully so that the connectors do not get damaged. Try slowly rocking them side to side and lifting up on them as you work them out. As soon as the new controls were mounted into the steering wheel, I reconnected the cables to the new controls. After I reinstalled the horn / airbag, I reconnected the battery. The moment I got everything together, I tested it thoroughly and found it to be a perfect fit. Thanks a lot! I could not be more pleased with this. Hope everything works out for you.

It was a great price for a great replacement part
5/5

Original Equipment Manufacturers A good fit and good look are important. A list of pros and cons is provided. When you have the right expectations, this kit can be perfect. However, if you require an exact OEM replacement part, you will have to buy directly from the Ford dealer. Here are the buttons you need if you want to replace the ones that look very similar at an affordable price. The pros are A product that looks and operates like an OEM just for a fraction of the price. The fit was perfect - It was perfectly molded to the steering wheel contour, and alignment of the mounting holes was perfect The wiring harness is included in the package. In my case, I left the OEM wiring in place and did not use it. There is no problem disabling the switch from the wiring, and the plug sockets perfectly line up. It works really well, as far as operations are concerned. The cons are There are plungers on the buttons that you can feel- The entire OEM part of the button is made of hard plastic, but these are made of a softer, rubber-like plastic and you can feel the plunger in the center. It was more of a cosmetic replacement than an operational one so I won't use it. There is some color shift in the illumination It's a light blue green instead of a sheer white color, so it's not too bad but noticeable to those with good vision There is a difference in the typeface- The lettering style has been redesigned to be more bold and square. It will not be noticed by anyone.

The '98 Explorer is compatible with this product
5/5

I have been using it for a while now and it's working beautifully. The Ford Explorer from 1998. It is the work of light. Contacts on buttons do not require much force for pushing. I used the OEM cable that came with the device, but it came with a cable. Be sure not to forget to disconnect the battery cable before removing the Air Bag. I am not sure where the Set/Resume button cable went, but it was a pain to get the old cable out of the On/Off button. It would have been a pain to take the steering wheel off and reroute the It is not recommended to pull on the cable itself because you may pull out the wires.

The clothing fits
5/5

My original 1999 Ford Ranger one had melted into a puddle of goo, so I bought this one. Since the summer heat has left my buttons cracked and melted, they have become sticky as a result. I decided to replace the ones that snapped off the steering wheel after they snapped off. It is fairly easy to install, especially since I only replaced the buttons and kept the original wiring. I tested the cruise control functions during a test drive and confirmed that they worked without any issues. There was a noticeable difference between the rubber over the buttons and the original ones, so the plungers could be felt under the rubber. In addition, the buttons do not appear to light up as they did before, but that could be due to the harness being reused. The weather is too hot outside, and I don't want to mess with the wiring harness, so I'm fine with In order to restore my steering wheel buttons so they are as good as new, I am pleased with my purchase and happy it was so inexpensive and simple.
