Questions & Answers

To avoid drilling holes, would this work if I wanted to hold my rear license plate?

Despite this tape holding up for nearly 5 years, I have had my GSXR 600's plate on for over 5 years. Just in case, I have a ziptie in one corner, but it has never come undone. In the bottom corner, I bent a plate so it matches the curve, then I placed 3M tape behind it to stop it from being caught in the wind. Due to a shortage, I am ordering more now as well as the fact that this product has endless applying possibilities.

Can it support a certain amount of weight?

It's impossible for me to comment on the exact amount, but from my past experiences, I would not exceed twice the That may not seem like much, but I think it was enough to keep the net hanging perpendicular fully secure.

Do you think this would work as a fastener for my car's emblem?

It's best to use an exact ax knife to remove the backing from the tape as if you touch it with your hands the oils in your skin will cause it not to adhere Among other things, I have used this item as car emblems, side moldings, car interior/exterior accessories, and to hang picture frames in my home. I am so happy with this product. Once you put it down, once you take it up, everything stays in place. If you try to peel and reapply it, the bond will not be as good.

Will the tape be able to withstand the heat generated by the turbocharged engine?

The product is made specifically for sticking emblems on vehicles and is not suitable for installing under the hood. Get thin strips of LED's and place them on either side of the engine bay so that they keep heat off. They have a sticky backing on the back of the strip.

This is a super fail! The player doesn't have any super strength
3/5

In a nutshell The cable tie mounts I used previously for holding some wiring in place on my Jeep dash were adhesive back. As a result of cleaning the dash surfaces with alcohol and applying the Super Strength 3M tape, the 3M had a much less strong hold than the cable mount tape. Here is a video showing how little stick the tape has on freshly alcohol cleaned and dry dash surfaces.

Stick to It & You Won't Want To Let THE UPDATE IS It was August
5/5

It will be 2020 on June 6. Here we are a year later. To hold our 'Rear View Camera' onto the lens of our rear interior light (Hyundai Santa Fe), we purchased this tape as a last resort. My experience shows that 130') inside the car when parked outside can melt the best of any sticky tape I know this because I have used Whenever that happened, the tape would stay on for a few weeks and then give up, causing the camera to drop and then sway like a pendulum while driving. This pretty much negated the purpose of having a rear view camera when it happened. After I got my tape, I saw the 3M tape & Decided I had nothing to lose, therefore ordered another type of 3M tape as well. This goes on first, a little bit at a time. Although we have experienced scorching, burning, skin peeling, eyebrow scorching heat in our car so far, this tape seems to be enjoying the heat and working well. This time period. When you have a tough or sticky project, you can buy this tape. You will need to prepare your surface before you apply it to help it work better. Using a wet rag, I cleaned our plastic lens, then sanded it lightly, dried it with a rag, and then applied the tape to the camera mount. Once the tape was secure, I peeled off the other side and applied it. You won't have to worry about falling cameras anymore! The view now shows us where we have been and who is behind our Hyundai much too closely for comfort!*UPDATE It has been a year since I permanently attached the rear view camera to our car using this 3M tape. As the car's interior heats up when it's parked and when it's in motion Although this tape is out of the AC (we reside in Las Vegas), it is still holding up well. This tape is amazing!.

I think this tape is the best I have ever heard
5/5

I would rank this stuff right up there with the best My trunk lid needed to be drilled six holes to fit a lip spoiler I bought for my car. As opposed to using one full-strength, I used two You see this stuff for long runs, and it's like it was bolted to place by Superman. Four seasons have passed and it has not improved. No matter how hot the July weather gets or how cold the February ice storm is, the tape will not melt. were to describe the item as a con, I would say the red backing is nearly impossible to remove without cursing, and once it touches something, you better make sure it's in the right place because it doesn't move.

I have noticed that my Cavalier's car molding has been peeling off the car for a few years now
5/5

I started with the rear doors, and as they started to peel, I removed them by hand. When the molding on the front door started peeling, I found this product.

The moldings had a bend of about 60°. While half of the scarf was still on the car, the other half was lying on the ground. It was the sun that shaped the molding, not the straight lines. It was my concern that this product might have the ability to straighten the molding with its adhesive power. In order to install this molding tape it was necessary to cut it to the approximate length that was hanging off the car. Once the old caulk was removed it was a little tough to install the new tape. The molding was pushing firmly against the car door after I tried my best to do my best. It was 3 when I remembered it Their adhesive coat was described as following by M I took the hooks (press firmly for 60+ seconds) and molded them in the same way. It took three minutes for me to begin pressing it, and I carefully let go. It is now three weeks later, and both front door moldings are still attached to the door frames. There have been multiple storms, and there have been freezing temperatures as well. Everything seems to be going smoothly so far. As soon as the molding is released, I will update this post.

I hate that dang stuff that sticks! The old saying goes, "Measure twice, cut once
5/5

". Do you remember it? In the case of this tape, that certainly applies. If you want the item exactly where you want it, make sure you know where it is. It is not coming back up without a good deal of cursing once it has gone down.

The tape works just as advertised
5/5

I had to replace the side molding on my 2011 Silverado. There is no such thing as it The old material was kind of a pain to get off, but with plastic scrapers, GooGone Automotive, and some alcohol, I had it off in no time. The tape I used allowed me to put it back on in a few minutes once the site was cleaned up. Make sure you place blue painter's tape along the top of the molding before you remove it so you will remember where you are supposed to replace it.

It is usual for 3M products to be the best in the market and I always use a 3M product whenever possible
3/5

There are only a few times when I feel let down by it. The tape did not adhere well to the raw side of the carbon fiber when I tried to use it to mount a carbon fiber spoiler. It didn't work between the fiber ridges and weeps rather easily. I had assumed that the adhesive would work between the fiber ridges, but it didn't. It would have been possible to sand the underside completely smooth, but that would have taken a long time. chose this tape over a paste adhesive in order to eliminate the need for a lot of prep. As a result, we'd have been better off using paste adhesive than tape in the long run.

I'm very pleased with it
5/5

The mounting tape is what I used to install the roof spoiler on my 2014 Volkswagen With 3M adhesion promoter, the tape was very easy to apply, and it has been holding up very well since then. As a result of exposing the small tabs above the spoiler, while pulling the backing very difficult, I was troubled to reattach them Align the text. Despite that fact, it was a positive for me, as it resulted in me finding out how well this tape would hold up. My alignment was complete and the backing was all removed, so I allowed the piece to sit for 24 hours in the driveway. Despite its rock-solid nature, the spoiler has not moved. These products are far more durable than the trunk lid spoiler on the vehicle from the factory. As it was wet and humid, the factory spoiler was beginning to loosen up after the 200 mile trip from my dealer to my I will post an update once it has been a while to show whether it has lasted.
