Questions & Answers

Will this light work on a one-wire system if the black wire is grounded?

Yes, but I believe the white is led ground. If the light does not come on after connecting it to a battery, reverse the wires. The ground is whoever is standing on the negative post. Aluminum siding is also ineffective as a ground.

Is it necessary to replace the flasher relay? My RV is a 1992 Fleetwood Flair. Is there a source and part number for this?

I used these to replace the marker lights on the canopy of both my '97 F250 and my '16 Forrest river travel trailer, and they worked perfectly. My turn signals, on the other hand, are never used. One thing I noticed was that the red wire was not always the hot lead on these; I had to physically touch the leads to my existing vehicle wires to determine proper connection because they are polarity-insensitive. specific. Overall, I'm happy with the results; they're a lot brighter than the old incandescent lights.

Is there a reflector built into the lens?

It's a clearance light, not a warning light. There isn't any kind of built-in reflector.

Everything is in order - Modifications that are simple There was only one quirk discovered
5/5

I purchased a set of seven red and amber lights to replace the five that came with our new 2009 Class C. I've done a lot more complicated modifications in the past, so the idea of modifying these for the installation didn't bother me. The mod process is depicted in one of the photos I've uploaded. br> 1 shows the unit as received, with the lens cover removed (the LEDs light up orange by the way). br> 2 has a 1/4" hole for the circuit board mounting pegs drilled just below and between the two dimples. br> As I pushed/pulled the wires into the unit and fed them under the circuit board out the new hole, 3 is looking at the front. br> 4 shows the backside of the circuit after both wires have been rerouted. br> br> br> br> br> br> br> br> br> br>br>Because the old units weren't exactly the same shape, I removed them and scraped and buffed the fiberglass to remove the stains and other debris from the ring around the base. I did have to offset these because several of the screws in the old units broke off while attempting to remove them, and the screw hole spacing is the same. I installed the new lights after drilling 1/8" holes for the new screws (which I had to ream a little because the cheap screws will break if you have aluminum behind the fiberglass like I do). br>br>Because these lights, like many LED products, are polarity sensitive, I used inline crimp connectors on both wires coming out of the lights and used one as a tester to determine the polarity of the two black wires from the RV in each of the 5 holes. I switched on the RV lights, and as I tested each set of five, I bent the positive side to the left and the negative side to the right, before starting to install each light. I used silicone on the backside of the unit around the screw holes and the new cable hole, as well as the mounting area around the 1" diameter hole that the grommets on the old unit used. br>br>As I was getting ready to install the final unit, Murphy showed up, as seen in the second photo. . . . br>I noticed that only four of the ten LEDs, two on each side, were lit up by all of the lights?! One of those "WTF" moments, to be sure. So I installed the new unit, and now all five of them were behaving in the same way. I realized that I had tested the units on my workbench with a 12v battery to ensure that they were in good working order before installing them. After thinking about the problem in my 70-year-old head, I realized that if I had run lights and other items for a few days (on and off), the truck battery might be low. Adding a "Low Battery" check to the quirks/features of these lights confirmed that the truck would not start. br>br>Time will tell how well these hold up to sunlight, rain, and dirt; I'll update this review if I notice any issues down the road; at the very least, I have two spares for both ends of the RV.

They were fine at first, but the lenses began to fade
3/5

These appear to be a good deal for the money; they're well-made and bright (perhaps a little too bright for marker lights). Only the wiring is a problem. Because the wires did not exit from the middle, I had to modify each one to fit through the holes in my trailer. Update: The lenses begin to fade after a short period of time. The lenses' color is starting to fade after a year and a half. Due to this problem, I would not buy them again.

For 14 LED lights, this is a fantastic deal! These would have cost $6 each if I had priced them separately at the auto parts store
5/5

These were the perfect fit for my vintage RV, and I needed all seven red and amber lights at the same time. The installation was simple, and they all function flawlessly and look fantastic at night.

- I'm already exhausted
3/5

However, excellent customer service; I was overjoyed when they arrived less than two months ago. They're already starting to burn out after just one outing with the trailer! A few of the red ones have broken free. I'm curious as to how many more will come after that. Yes, they were professionally handled and installed. After a month from the date of purchase, on June 16, the return window was apparently closed. So I guess I got the value for my money. br>Saturday, July 30th - Update. I got in touch with the seller. They were quick to respond and are replacing the lights that were burned out. Things take place. As a result, I'm giving my customer service a higher rating.

Bright
5/5

The old marker lights on a 1994 motorhome have been replaced with these. This kit includes enough lights to replace the five forward and two side amber marker lights, as well as the five backward and two rear side marker lights. They add a lot of brightness to the outside of the building.

Worked for me, and I'm sure it'll work for you as well
4/5

They're bright and attractive, but you'll have to figure out how to mount them yourself. There are no instructions for installing the device. The color code on them differs from that on most American-made RVs, as does the placement of the wires. That was something I had to figure out on my own, and I had to drill a new hole in the RV to accommodate the wires. A quick YouTube video would be extremely beneficial.

Lights that are ideal for replacement
5/5

Good build quality and a lot of light. The lights on our '93 model motorhome were a perfect replacement for the originals. I had to reroute the wires so they came out the center in the back, just like another reviewer. It's not hard to do - It takes a little bit of time. But, since I'm retired, I have the luxury of doing so.
