Here is the problem if you are buying these for "REPLACEMENTS" on a factory-built trailer.
We have no problem with the light and pigtail. They both fit and are of "standard" size. In most cases, however, factory-built trailers do not use this extra grommet, which uses a 2" hole. TruckLite components, however, do use a 3". A 75" hole must be drilled for the grommet. As a result, you'll need to take the time to grind out every hole in the grommet, which comes with the light. There were nine or more lights on the trailer, so that wouldn't happen. Since the center of the hole is already gone, it's not feasible to use a hole saw. In regards to the light, it looks okay.
I will give you two examples. Three 3" holes can be used for mounting 5" lights. It was good that I read other reviews stating that these were difficult to install, because it helped me come up with a better plan and it went smoothly. You get two plugs on the light, one of which is for existing two prong plugs, and the other is for additional use. They are stylish and come with two prongs and wire leads. As it is, the connection for the light already has dielectric grease on it. It's nice. Here's what you need to do This is 1. This older CM work bed has thick steel, so I made a slight bevel with my grinder (the steel is thick here). 3.
The inner ring (not the rim facing outward) must be cut into 8 slits. As you work on the next, you can grab a smaller section and hold it while you work on the next. In addition, the slits do not affect the strength of the adhesive after installation. 1. 2. 3. You can plug in the light (yes. When I became too focused on the installation, nearly forgot to do it).
4. You can use an allen wrench or a smooth tool and a screwdriver with a wide blade to turn the rim. This is just a combination so that the material is not punctured or torn, but it will still be necessary to push through Those are the pictures of the first time we tried it Within two weeks, there will be a second light installed After the bevel has been created, wait three minutes. Was easy to install, and I am planning to purchase more since the product appears and feels quality enough to be worth ordering. The update for August 5, 2021 is It has now been 5 years since this photo was taken, and each of these lights is still working and as bright as it did on.
As the rubber grommets were sturdy and a little stiff, putting them in boiling water for a minute or two made it easier to place them in the 3" holes where the old bulbs Grommets matched the diameter of the holes exactly, and the grommets were rounded so that they conformed to dents in the surface, around They were large enough to cover the three screw holes for the old lights on the outer face of the grommet. There were a few protruding screws, but they were small enough at the back side of the grommets so that they did not interfere with the entire installation. There was plenty of lube/sealant on the electrical socket where the pigtails attached to the lights. Both ends of the pigtail have double rubber seals on each pin, and can be orientated either way. Lights with pigtails can be attached to the grommet before being installed in the grommet, providing a convenient way to pull out the cable. It's easy to install the lights because the grommets are securely attached.
As a result they did not fit, I went to Nappa, and found the same size with grommets that would fit
I spoke with the manufacturer, and they said they never encounter that kind of situation. I think it's a problem! There is nothing wrong with my truck as much as the manufacturer has told me. If I just went to the farm and fleet store or Nappa Auto Parts and bought the parts that fit or are considered as normal for my truck, I would be okay. There are other grommets that I can get from the parts store, which are considered to be the norm, I just didn't affix these because they didn't fit, just like they are stated in the article.
As tight as it was to get the grommets on (in my opinion a good thing), I am confident they are securely attached to the lights they hold. Lights look good, and reflectors do a good job of reflecting light. I will review this as a five star review as long as the lights work well.
I bought these lights to replace the side markers and another brand for the 4" round rear lights. After seeing the difference in quality between this and the other brand's 4" round lights, I chose to return the other brand's lights and purchase this brand's. These lights fit tightly into the grommets, have copper wiring of appropriate gauge, and have dielectric grease already applied. Lights are connected to them using connectors that fit snugly. There was thin aluminum wiring, no dielectric grease, the connectors barely clung to the lights (I planned to glue them on), and they fit loosely in the grommet so I could easily push them out with one finger (considering gluing these These lights are worth a bit more money and worth the extra money because of the reasons above.
Compared to the 3 LED lights that are usually found at TSC or Northern Tool, the light here is beautiful with many bright LEDs. Unfortunately, and maybe this is just a simple installer error, but there is no way to install these using the supplied grommet that comes with Standard A The rubber cannot be damaged or the light damaged without ripping the rubber. I went to Northern Tool and purchased replacement grommets for the OE hole, which fit snugly with the inside of the marker lamp. Instead of grinding out the hole, I turned to this website and purchased grommet replacements. If I were to buy two, I would just get the two. I'll buy the rubber grommet separately next time and just the 5 light by itself.
