The trim ring is part of the housing, yes

Is it possible to use the original Harley trim rings on ?

That's what they should do. It is just fine to replace my visor trim rings with an aftermarket set (generics).

These light bars could not be used with the Roadking / Electra glide light bars

They were purchased to black out a Roadking 13, but the threaded studs were too short to allow them to be installed. I bought a black light bar along with these housings and went to install them but was unable to complete the job.
There is no way to make them work with turn signal mounting below them as they were before. I recommend you not to buy this.

The speakers are okay for the price, but they are angled too high, and they do not have a ground

In this case, it looks like they tried to add a ground wire after everything had been powder coated but did not do so until after everything had been powder coated. My ground had to be run to the light on my own.

There are new bulbs being used by Harley

Using these new bulbs won't work since the bulbs are too deep, which means that they will not fit in these housings. It is possible that if the housings came with shorter connectors, they would work. I just swapped out the plugs that came with the housings with the stock Harley connectors and it worked perfectly!.
