The stock rear brake lever on the 850 GS is an open metal lever with teeth. It's ideal for off-roading. Because of the open design, the pedal never felt "there" when I used it on the road. This product fills the empty space and uncertainty left by the stock brake pedal, and unless you're riding the 850GS off-road all the time, you won't need it. If you're going to be on the road, you'll probably prefer the feel of this item. Simple to install, fits perfectly, and appears to be a genuine BMW component.

Finally, a brake plate that will fit my BMW G 310 R from 2021! , which provides a surface in place of the bike's stupid ring, as well as extending and raising the brake surface area by about 1/4 inch. Only two minor criticisms: the heads of the screws on the black one should be black, and the length of the screws when they go all the way through isn't perfect. however, it has a nice textured surface and a sleek shape.

It was extremely simple to set up. I went ahead and added some blue loctite, which adds a nice touch! For me, it makes tapping the back brake a little less clumsy.

My BMW 310 GS's foot brake is now much easier to reach. It's simple to put together, looks good, and can easily handle a minor annoyance.
