What you pay for is exactly what you get. This needed to be cut down to fit my 2020 Z900. If you're not picky, it'll bolt up, but if you want it to fit properly, you'll have to grind some material away. Before the base sits flat, the rear edge nearest the license plate makes contact with the fender. Some material had to be ground out with a dremel. After that, I was able to reuse the stock hardware, which made everything match. The wiring and ends of the stock blinkers are exposed, which is something I don't like. I made a makeshift shield to keep rocks from slamming into the wires, but I'll have to come up with a better solution in the future. You get what you pay for, as I previously stated. Because this is less than half the price of similar name-brand products, some work was expected.
It would have been nice if it came with instructions because it came with spacers and a metal plate that I couldn't figure out how to put together. YouTube, on the other hand, came to the rescue. I used the factory-installed signal and license plate light, which worked perfectly. If you're sticking with OEM signals, you'll need a drill with a cutting wheel, as suggested in a previous review. It's a good product, and I'm pleased with how it turned out. Installing it takes about 30 minutes if you have all of the necessary tools, or about 3 hours if you have the boys over for a few beers.
The installation went relatively smoothly. forward-- If you need assistance, simply Google "Z900 fender eliminator installation. " To install the factory turn signals, you must first cut out the tabs. You'll need a Dremel or something similar to cut aluminum. I also used a file to make sure the burrs didn't scratch the turn signal rubber. The final installation is spotless.
It was relatively simple to set up. It was more difficult to undo the stock. I had no idea I could twist and pull out metal place holders for signal lights with a flathead screwdriver. It bent one side when I tried to bang it out, but it's a good product for my bike.
For the money, this is a fantastic tail tidy. If you want to use the stock blinkers, you'll need a cutting tool, as others have mentioned. This isn't something everyone has, and you won't be able to use aftermarket blinkers once you've cut it. Otherwise, it functions flawlessly and would receive five stars if the design were better.
Don't be a sucker and buy this item for $150. It's less than a quarter of the cost and does the job while cleaning the tail section. It was well worth the money.
For a factory-style finish, you can use the stock turn signals and license plate light.
It appears to be in good condition and is simple to set up. That price, too, is hard to beat.
